Fauxtox! Outrage over Joey Grant Luther injecting fake botox

They’re so utterly outraged, disgusted and profoundly horrified — they’re almost frowning!
Frozen faces are freaking out over the arrest of aesthetician Joey Grant Luther, who has been accused of injecting people with counterfeit Botox from China causing them to experience symptoms like difficulty swallowing, heart palpitations and slurring of speech, according to court docs.
Luther is not legally authorized to administer Botox, which we hear from former clients wasn’t clear to them.
One taut-faced former client tells us they allegedly got double vision after getting jabbed by Luther and spent thousands on CAT scans as well as an MRI and specialists to try and get to the bottom of the problem.
The issue eventually went away and the client even went back to Luther.
Luther, the source says, then disappeared.
“I kept texting him and texting him, and never heard back from him,” says the source. “I liked him and thought he was nice. I’m pissed. Who do you trust these days?”
Another client tells us the scandal is “rocking the gay community,” which was at the heart of Luther’s customer base, they said.
“He was charming and nice, seemed normal,” says the second former client. “Everyone is totally shocked.”
We are told part of Luther’s appeal was his prices.
“It was cheap, considering,” says the second source. “He would do $300 for one area, but if you are going to a top person it’s way more than that.”
While Luther was an aesthetician and could perform procedures like laser and facials, he was allegedly not allowed to administer Botox because he did not have the proper license, according to the complaint.
As one top injector explained bluntly to Page Six: “He’s not a doctor. He’s just some guy.”
Luther, 54, was busted by the feds this week, The Post reported, and charged with wire fraud, smuggling and other crimes related to misbranded and counterfeit drugs.
He allegedly used the prescription medicine he knew was counterfeit on clients at his medical spa, JGL Aesthetics, and treated them without the proper New York state license, prosecutors said.
According to a release put out by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York, one victim as diagnosed with botulism toxin after going to the hospital for “double vision, light headedness, difficulty swallowing and chewing, heart palpitations, and slurring of speech” — as well as being unable to lift her arms and experiencing “weakness from the waist up.”
Luther was released Wednesday on $100,000 bail secured by his second home in Miami Beach.
A US Magistrate ordered Luther released on the condition that he surrender his existing aesthetics license — which already barred him from administering Botox treatments — and put up the Florida home as collateral.
He had no comment when asked about the charges on his way out of court, and his next court date was scheduled for early February.
Luther could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the top charge by the feds.

The royal red carpet has been rolled out for a new wax figure at Madame Tussauds London!
On Wednesday, May 21, the museum unveiled their new statue of Kate Middleton after the wax figure underwent a makeover.
This comes after the Princess of Wales, 43, first made her Madame Tussauds debut in April 2012, a year after her wedding to Prince William.
“Fast forward to today, hot off the heels of their 14th wedding anniversary, the talented studio artists have refreshed the Kate Middleton figure from tiara to toe,” a news release obtained by PEOPLE reads.
In photos shared by the museum, princess Kate’s wax figure can been sporting a sparkly pink gown and tiara, reflecting the outfit she wore at the annual Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace in December 2023.

“The figure is dressed in a dusky pink Jenny Packham gown, silver pumps in the style of Gianvito Rossi ‘Rania 105′ and finished off with an exact replica of the signature Lover’s Knot Tiara,” the release continued. “The tiara itself is from the Madame Tussauds London archives, and was worn by the figure of Princess Diana in the 1980s.”
The royal headpiece is the one Kate has worn the most during her royal life and was also a favorite of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, who wore it on multiple occasions. According to the Court Jeweller, the special tiara is more than 100 years old and was originally commissioned from the jeweler Garrard by Queen Mary in either 1913 or 1914.
The wax figure’s look was completed with a Royal Victorian Order blue sash as well as “the Royal Family Order of QEII and replica Greville Diamond Chandelier earrings.”

‘Love Island USA’ host Ariana Madix reveals which cosmetic treatments she gets

“Love Island USA” host Ariana Madix is coming clean about her cosmetic treatments.
“I just did my first laser treatment. I’ve been very interested in that for a long time. I keep things at a minimum,” Madix tells Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy in an exclusive interview.
She goes to reveal that she does get Botox “every six months or so.”
“I just got a little bit in my lips because they were getting a little crusty on the inside. I never go more than 0.5 at a time,” she adds. “Because I never want to look crazy.”
Madix, 39, explains that she started getting laser treatments to address skin laxity.
“Fine lines, I don’t give a s–t about, but skin laxity is something I’ve been dealing with,” she says.
Due to that, the “Vanderpump Rules” alum says she was told by professionals that she’s “not even a candidate” for facial fillers because she doesn’t “have the structure to support it.”
“That’s why we started on the lasers,” she elaborates. “So I will report back after I’ve had all the things.”
In addition to her cosmetic treatments, the former Bravolebrity reveals that she drinks “insane amounts of water, like 100 ounces a day” and “constantly” goes to the gym.
Madix acknowledges there is “a lot of pressure” when it comes to aging but tries to keep everything in perspective.
“I feel like you don’t want to be preoccupied with it too much,” she says. “But at the same time, if you feel good about doing something, go ahead and do it. At the end of the day, it’s nobody’s business.”
“I know in the industry, I am in a position where that stuff does matter, but I also know … I’m going to get older no matter what. … If you don’t age, you just die. I’d rather be aged than dead,” Madix adds.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the reality star has detailed her cosmetic enhancements.
While she isn’t doing facial fillers anymore, she confessing to getting filler in her chin and lip last July after a fan speculated she had a plethora of work done.
“i’ll tell you what i’ve had! you’re partially correct,” Madix commented in response at the time.
“tox in 11’s, outer brow, and my neck. ellevate for my neck in 2019 by @theneckdoctor. minimal lip filler bc my face is too small to handle very much and filler in my chin.”
“absolutely no filler anywhere else and def no bleph yet ❤️❤️,” she added. “hope this helps! i’ll keep yall posted if i do anything else.”
