Fire extinguished after smoke near Dodger Stadium alarms fans
A construction hearth on the border of Glassell Park and Cypress Park despatched thick grey plumes of smoke rising over Dodger Stadium Saturday night, alarming some followers who have been there to look at the Dodgers face off towards the Colorado Rockies.
The Los Angeles Hearth Division dispatched 16 hearth firms who fought the blaze for 42 minutes earlier than it was extinguished at 6:37 p.m., based on spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. Greater than 100 firefighters participated within the effort, she stated, and nobody was injured.
Requested about the reason for the fireplace, Stewart stated, “Arson is on-scene for the investigation, per protocol” for main hearth emergencies.
The hearth destroyed a 100-by-200-foot, single-story former courthouse-turned-commercial constructing at 1158 N. San Fernando Highway, based on an LAFD statement. A close-by two-story constructing “was defended from harm by crews,” the assertion stated.
Some baseball followers shared nervous social media posts from inside Dodger Stadium.
