Judge Judy’s Comeback Spells Trouble for Former CBS Executives
Judge Judy Sheindlin, the highest paid TV jurist, is set to make her return to linear television this fall with her new courtroom show, “Judy Justice.” This news comes as a blow to her old bosses at CBS, who were expecting to cash in on reruns of her long-running show, “Judge Judy.”
Sheindlin ended her successful 25 season run with CBS in 2021 and teamed up with her executive producer, Scott Koondel, to create and distribute “Judy Justice” on Amazon’s Freevee streaming service. Despite CBS’s efforts to keep Judy out of the marketplace, “Judy Justice” has been cleared in 95% of the country and is set to compete with reruns of “Judge Judy.”
CBS had hoped to sell repeats of the old show to local markets, but now they find themselves at a disadvantage as other stations have the option to air the new original content from “Judy Justice.” Variety reported that CBS is trying to secure top dollar for its reruns, but may struggle to compete with the buzz around the new show.
There were talks for “Judy Justice” to replace CBS’ daytime chat series, “The Talk,” but it seems those discussions did not come to fruition. CBS owns the rights to the original show’s library and has provided episodes to stations since it ended in 2021. They are not currently considering replacing “The Talk” with “Judy Justice.”
Despite the challenges, Koondel described Judge Judy as a juggernaut with a massive loyal audience who will follow her wherever she goes. New Yorkers will be able to watch “Judy Justice” on Pix 11 at 3p.m., while CBS stations will continue to air reruns of “Judge Judy.”
While CBS may have been caught off guard by the success of “Judy Justice,” one person who will be pleased with the news is Jay-Z, a self-professed fan of the TV judge. As the battle for viewership heats up this fall, it will be interesting to see how Judge Judy’s return to TV impacts the landscape of daytime television.
In the end, it seems that Judge Judy is not only a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom, but also in the world of television programming. Her loyal audience and undeniable charm have made her a household name, and it appears that she has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. As she makes her triumphant return to TV this fall, one thing is certain – Judge Judy is here to stay.

Olivia Munn opens up about her decision to have a full hysterectomy during breast cancer fight: ‘It was the right choice for me’
Olivia Munn, the talented actress and mother, recently shared the news of her decision to undergo a full hysterectomy amidst her battle with breast cancer. In a heartfelt interview with Vogue, Olivia opened up about her journey and the difficult choices she has had to make for the sake of her health and family.
Olivia explained that her doctor recommended the hysterectomy as a way to stop the production of estrogen in her body, which luminal B breast cancer feeds on. She described the decision as the best one for her, emphasizing that she needed to be present for her family, especially her son, Malcolm, whom she welcomed with partner John Mulaney in November 2021.
This surgery marked Olivia’s fifth in her cancer journey, adding to a series of other procedures she had previously undergone, including a double mastectomy, lymph node dissection, reconstructive surgery, and a nipple delay. Before opting for the hysterectomy, Olivia had been taking medication that left her bedridden due to severe side effects.
In the interview, Olivia also shared that she had frozen her eggs for the third time, hoping to expand her family in the future. Despite the challenges she has faced, Olivia expressed her gratitude to her loved ones for their unwavering support throughout her battle with cancer. She credited her family, friends, and partner John Mulaney for being her pillars of strength during this trying time.
Olivia’s journey began when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March, despite testing negative for the BRCA gene and receiving a clear mammogram. Her doctor calculated her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score to be at 37 percent, leading to the discovery of luminal B cancer in both breasts, an aggressive and fast-moving form of the disease.
Throughout it all, Olivia has remained resilient and determined to fight for her health and future. Her story serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection, proactive healthcare choices, and the power of love and support in facing life’s toughest challenges.
As Olivia continues on her journey towards recovery, she inspires others with her strength, courage, and vulnerability. Her story is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to triumph over adversity and find hope in the darkest of times. Olivia Munn’s decision to undergo a hysterectomy was not just a medical choice; it was a declaration of her unwavering commitment to life, love, and the future.
