Stars who’ve used weight-loss drugs

Ozempic is the newest craze to take over Hollywood.
While stars like Kyle Richards have denied using the Type II diabetes medication — which is injected once a week into the stomach, thigh or arm — others have been vocal with their decision to use the drug, or ones similar, to shed weight quickly.
From Elon Musk to Chelsea Handler, find out which celebrities have admitted to taking Ozempic for weight loss.
Meghan Trainor
Meghan Trainor admitted to Mounjaro use while breaking down her dramatic weight loss via Instagram on March 31, 2025.
“Yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me,” the singer wrote of becoming her “healthiest, strongest” self.
The pop star also credited a dietician, a trainer and “huge lifestyle changes” for her headline-making slimdown.
Fat Joe
Fat Joe admitted that he used Ozempic to help shed a whopping 200 pounds in an interview with Us Weekly shared Oct. 14, 2024.
“Ozempic says you may only have two pieces of your favorite stuff,” he told the outlet.
The rapper, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, also said that his knowledge over what kind of foods to avoid contributed to the transformation, as well.
“We just try to eat everything with the least carbs as possible. So we try to stay away from the bread, the pasta, the rice. That’s the smartest way to eat,” he told the outlet.
Fat Joe said that he’s also focused in on portion control and learning how to eat in moderation.
“Like this morning I ate breakfast, I had this toast. I cut the corner off, ate it and kept it moving. Normally I would’ve ate [sic] the whole thing. But you know, that’s what we do. We cut carbs and try to be smarter,” he explained.
Kathy Bates
Kathy Bates revealed in an interview that she has lost 20 pounds using Ozempic. Before using the weight loss drug, the actress shed 80 pounds through her diet and lifestyle.
“There’s been a lot of talk that I just was able to do this because of Ozempic,” she told People in October 2024. “But I have to impress upon people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. It’s very hard to say you’ve had enough.”
The “Misery” star went on a weight-loss journey several years ago after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
The Oscar winner admitted to the magazine that she “used to eat terribly” — “burgers and Cokes and pizza” — for emotional reasons.
“I ate because I was afraid, and I ate because it was a FU to my self-esteem,” she explained. “[Diabetes] runs in my family, and I’d seen what my father had gone through. He had had a leg amputation. One of my sisters is dealing with it very seriously, and it terrified me. It scared me straight.”
Macy Gray
Macy Gray shared that she has been battling stomach pains and constipation since she began taking Ozempic for weight loss.
The “I Try” singer told her “Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets” castmates Kim Zolciak and Johnny Weir that she had been “up all night” due to her discomfort in the July 2024 episode.
“Oh, boy, my stomach hurts. I’ve just been really constipated,” she said. “I took Ozempic. I can’t go to the bathroom, and I was up all night.”
Gray, whose real name is Natalie McIntyre, then explained that she had turned to the trendy medication to “lose weight really fast” before going on tour.
“Quietly, I’m kind of a vain person. I’ve gained a lot of weight over the past couple years, and this is right about the time when everybody starts talking about this Ozempic,” she admitted in a confessional.
“So, I thought, ‘OK, I’m not taking it off the right way. Let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic [prescriptions],’” the Grammy winner added.
“I was actually trying to take it off [the weight] before the show because I didn’t want to be super fat on TV, but here we are.”
Alabama Barker
Alabama Barker has joined the gaggle of celebrities taking weight-loss medication.
The daughter of Travis Barker and his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, made the admission in a July 2024 selfie-style video that showed her applying her makeup.
“I have, like, this thing where I photograph so ugly, and people are like, ‘Oh, my God — you’re so fat, and you’re so ugly,’” Alabama explained.
“And it’s, like, I see what you guys are seeing, but just, like, meet me in person. I feel like I don’t look like that.”
In the next breath, however, she added, “But I’m on weight-loss medication because I’m tired of being fat and photographing like a damn ogre.”
Alabama did not name the drug she’s on.
Shanna Moakler
Shanna Moakler admitted to People that she used Mounjaro to lose weight after her parents died seven months apart.
“I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s–t,” she said. “I was so devastated, and I missed my f–king mom and dad. I was like, ‘I’m going to f–king eat the pain away.’”
The former beauty pageant queen didn’t reveal how much weight she’s lost using the drug.
Braunwyn Windham-Burke
“RHOC” alum Braunwyn Windham-Burke revealed in June 2024 that she began taking Ozempic after she moved to Nashville with her partner, Jennifer Spinner.
“The food is different [in Nashville],” she told Us Weekly. “There’s Loveless Cafe and biscuits and fried chicken… I’m not a person with a lot of self-control.”
The reality star said she gained 20 pounds before turning to the medication to help her slim her waistline.
Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson admitted in May 2024 that she dropped 60 pounds with the help of a weight-loss drug.
“Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having [use medication], too, because my blood work got so bad,” she told guest Whoopi Goldberg on an episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
Clarkson didn’t reveal the exact pharmaceutical she used, but did confirm it’s not Ozempic.
“Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic — it’s not — it’s something else, but it’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar. Obviously, my body doesn’t do it right.”
Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling revealed she used Ozempic and Mounjaro to lose weight after welcoming her sixth child with Dean McDermott.
“I did Mounjaro and everyone admits it now,” she said during her “Misspelling” podcast on April 16.
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum added, “I tried Ozempic and it didn’t work for me.”
Spelling explained she was at 160 pounds when she tried the weight loss medication to slim back down to 120 pounds.
She leaned off Mounjaro in January 2024 after reaching her goal weight.
Rebel Wilson
Rebel Wilson admitted she briefly used Ozempic to help with her weight loss after shedding 80 pounds.
“Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good,” the “Pitch Perfect” star said during a March 2024 interview with the Sunday Times.
The actress added she no longer uses the diabetes medication.
Tracy Morgan
During an August 2023 “Today” show appearance, Tracy Morgan told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that he takes Ozempic injections every Thursday.
“I ain’t letting it go,” the stand-up comedian said of the diabetes drug. “It cuts my appetite in half. Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos.”
As for his gym routine, the actor added, “I get up at seven every morning, and I’m in the gym at 10. Then I go back to sleep. And that’s my life.”
Michael Rubin
Fanatics founder Michael Rubin admitted in July 2023 that he used Ozempic competitor Mounjaro to shed some unwanted pounds, otherwise he’d “be the Pillsbury Doughboy.”
He then joked that “plastic surgery” would be his “next” step toward eternal youth.
Emily Simpson
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Emily Simpson admitted on “Jeff Lewis Live” in June 2023 that she used Ozempic to kickstart her weight loss before going for liposuction and a breast reduction.
“I didn’t like the way it made me feel lethargic and it made me just not have a lot of energy, which was hard with three little kids,” she explained, “but it does make you feel full and it does make you, for me, it was like a refresh.”
Amy Schumer
Amy Schumer admitted that she tried Ozempic and got “so skinny,” but had to stop taking it because the drug made her feel “so sick.”
“[I] couldn’t play with my son,” the comedian said on “Watch What Happens Live” in June 2023. “I was so skinny and he’s throwing a ball at me and [I couldn’t].”
She also slammed celebrities who lie about using the weight-loss drug:
“Everyone has been lying saying, ‘Oh smaller portions.’ Like, shut the f—k up.”
Schumer added, “You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop. Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo.”
Gracie McGraw
After posting bikini snaps in June 2023, Gracie McGraw poked fun at accusations that she uses Ozempic as she has been “open” about taking the Type II diabetes drug since being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome.
“I did use Ozempic last year, yes,” Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s eldest daughter wrote via Instagram. “I am now on a low dose of Mounjaro for my PCOS as well as working out.”
Gracie first shared her PCOS struggles in March 2022.
Lauren Manzo
Caroline Manzo’s daughter, Lauren Manzo, admitted she used the weight-loss drug Mounjaro, a competitor of Ozempic, to lose 30 pounds following a 50-pound weight loss.
“You guys have seen me struggle with [my weight] since I’m 20 years old, and it’s been really hard for me,” she said during Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” live podcast event in May 2023. “I’ve lost a lot of weight from being on that whole ‘Ozempic’ thing.”
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne revealed on “The Talk” that she got “very sick” after using injectable weight-loss drugs for several months.
“The first couple of months, I just felt nauseous. Every day I felt nauseous, my stomach was upset, whatever,” she said.
The former reality star did not specify which medication she used but said it caused her to lose 30 pounds in four months.
Dolores Catania
dolorescatania/Instagram
Dolores Cantina admitted to using Ozempic to slim down in time for the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” Season 13 reunion taping.
“I wasn’t going to come to the reunion looking any bigger than anyone else, so I got on the bandwagon,” she told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” on April 4, 2023.
When the host asked about the side effects, Catania replied, “Just not hungry.”
Jennifer Fessler
“RHONJ” newbie Jennifer Fessler all but confirmed she used a variation of Ozempic to help her drop some pounds.
“I did lose a lot of weight. I took peptides, and I don’t know if you’ve heard of medications associated with [peptides] that help people lose weight,” she said on “WWHL” on March 21, 2023.
Cohen then flat-out asked Fessler whether she was on Ozempic, to which she coyly replied, “You said it, I didn’t. But … whatever works, here I am.”
Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi
Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi revealed she lost more than 10 pounds on the drug — and even taught her fans how to inject themselves.
“I am on the weight-loss shots, honey, OK,” the “Shahs of Sunset” alum said in an Instagram video on Feb. 28, 2023. “I’m just not going to lie about it because I always keep it real about what is fake.”
Gharachedaghi explained that she experienced health issues in 2022 that made her gain some weight, which she had a “very, very, very hard time getting rid of.”

After showing her Instagram followers how to do their own injections, the former Bravolebrity shaded celebs who denied using Ozempic or any of its alternatives.
“We know who you are,” she said. “We see how skinny y’all are getting. It’s not rocket science. Just saying.”
Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler claimed she didn’t know she used to be on Ozempic until a friend, who was also on the weight-loss drug, told her.
“I came back from a vacation, and I injected myself with it. I went to lunch with a girlfriend a few days later, and she was like, ‘I’m not really eating anything. I’m so nauseous. I’m on Ozempic,’” she recalled on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Jan. 25, 2023.
“I was like, ‘I’m kind of nauseous, too.’ But I had just come back from Spain and was jet-lagged. I had been there for a month. White privilege.”
After Handler told her friend that she was “on semaglutide,” her pal confirmed that was the generic version of Ozempic.
The comedian later admitted that she was no longer taking the diabetes medication.
“I’m not on it anymore,” she clarified. “I’m an irresponsible drug user, but I’m not gonna take a diabetic drug. I tried it, and I’m not gonna do that. That’s not for me. That’s not right for me.”
Remi Bader
Remi Bader confessed she was on Ozempic before it went viral on TikTok.
The influencer said she was prescribed the drug because she was pre-diabetic and insulin-resistant and gaining weight. However, when she stopped taking it, she “gained double the weight back.”
“I saw a doctor, and they were like, ‘It’s 100 percent because you went on Ozempic,’” she said on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast on Jan. 12, 2023.
“It was making me think I wasn’t hungry for so long,” the TikTok star added. “I lost some weight. I didn’t want to be obsessed with being on it long-term. I was like, ‘I bet the second I [get] off, I’m going to [be] starving again.’
“I did, and my bingeing got so much worse. So, then I kind of blamed Ozempic.”
Elon Musk
Elon Musk admitted to using Wegovy, an injection used for chronic weight management in adults with obesity and Type II diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
When a fan asked “What’s your secret?” and complimented his “ripped” physique, the billionaire tweeted on Oct. 1, 2022, “Fasting” and “Wegovy.”
Oprah Winfrey
After months of speculation, Oprah Winfrey admitted to People in December 2023 that she uses a prescription medication “as a tool to manage” her weight, but did not reveal the exact drug.
“The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for,” the talk-show host told the outlet.
She added, “I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself.”
Sheryl Underwood
Sheryl Underwood joked that she is “almost a baby Kardashian” after losing 100 pounds while taking the weight loss drug Wegovy.
“I’m about three different sizes because I still got a booty. But here’s the bad part — you know how those girls have the hourglass? I’m almost to the hourglass,” she told the Messenger in an interview published in December 2023.
“I’m almost a baby Kardashian. Let me say that. I’m almost a baby Kardashian.”
Due to the drastic weight loss, the “Talk” co-host — who once weighed 250 pounds — revealed she no longer has to take medicine for her previous health issues.
Claudia Oshry
In August 2023, Claudia Oshry got emotional as she revealed to her fans that she had been taking Ozempic for the past year.
“The reason I’m nervous about sharing [how much I’ve lost] is because I’m ashamed of myself that I got to a place where I had 70 pounds to lose,” she said on an episode of “The Toast” at the time.
“I could cry I’m so mad at myself,” she added, breaking down in tears.
The comedian, known for her Instagram handle @girlwithnojob, joked that she never thought she was “that big” because she’s “so delusional.”
“To be a fat woman is one of the hardest things to do in this world. [But] I feel like I handled it as good as I could have and I’m proud of the fact I was able to have a full life [before losing weight],” Oshry said.
Boy George
British musician Boy George admitted to using both Ozempic and its competitor Mounjaro in his autobiography, “Karma.”
“I have struggled with my weight most of my life, and being under public and media scrutiny doesn’t help,” he wrote in the book.
The singer called the weight-loss medication a “wonder drug” and insisted “anyone who was fat last year and is now skinny” is using the prescription.
Heather Gay
“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Heather Gay admitted that she was on the Ozempic train in November 2023.
“I’ve been on it for a long time, but hadn’t really seen much results,” she told People at Variety’s Women in Reality TV event in Los Angeles.
“And I haven’t had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great.”
Gay has witnessed, however, that people treat her differently even with just minor weight loss.
“You lose five pounds, people are nicer to you,” the reality star said.
“I don’t know why. It’s just the way the world works and that makes me sad for women. But happy that I’m down five.”

Roseanne Barr reveals heart issue, fears she’ll die during surgery

Roseanne Barr received a stark diagnosis — a “damaged” heart — a warning that left her fearing she could “die on the surgery table.”
Barr, 73, opened up about her health while talking about the “ponytail facelift” she wanted to get.
“This doctor says I have to go get my heart checked out because it’s damaged,” the actress said during an appearance on her podcast, “The Roseanne Barr Podcast.” “So now I’m so pissed. Because I’m like, I need a new doctor.”
“He’s always sending me to other doctors to check me out,” she added. “And I’m like, why do I have to go find something wrong when nothing’s wrong and then get in shape just so I can have surgery and die on the surgery table?”
Barr doubled down, saying the prospect of surgery didn’t make sense to her.
“I mean, it doesn’t make any sense,” she said. “I would rather not get ready for any sort of surgery ever again in my life and just, you know, get a heart attack or a stroke and then just be put into the home. What do they call that place? Hospice.”
The candid remarks offered a glimpse into her mindset on aging and end-of-life care, a contrast to the more grounded, day-to-day life she’s built in recent years. Barr opened up about her move to Texas and the joys she’s experienced since making the lifestyle change and being outdoors in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.
Although it has been a “dream come true” for the “Roseanne Barr is America” star, Barr shared that while mowing her property, her tractor fell on top of her and trapped her underneath the weight of the machine.
“I’m doing a lot of mowing. I’ve got a really fantastic tractor out here, and I’m mowing. The only problem is I don’t clear the trees quite as good as I should, and I’m always hitting a tree and knocking it over, and it always hits me in the head.
“So, I’ve had several injuries recently. I had this one tree … I knocked it and a great big old branch fell right on my head and trapped me in my tractor,” Barr said. “So I knew I had to get out of there, and it weighed about a hundred pounds.”
Barr explained that it took her an hour to move the tree “inch by inch” before she was able to flip it over.
Ahead of the release of the documentary, “Roseanne Barr is America,” in 2025, Barr told Fox News Digital that her life is a representation of the American experience.
“I went from poverty to wealth through comedy. That’s a typical Jewish-American experience in my generation and a few other generations for minority people that are funny. I think it’s typical, you know,” she said.
A stand-up comic turned household name, Barr skyrocketed to fame with her hit ABC sitcom “Roseanne.” In 2018, Barr was essentially canceled after tweeting a racist remark about Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett.
Barr faced an onslaught of backlash for the tweet, leading to smears from her co-stars and ABC canceling the revival of her hit namesake show “Roseanne,” instead televising the spin-off series “The Conners.”
The comedian admitted she doesn’t keep in touch with any of her former co-stars.
“No, I’m not friends with none of them,” Barr told Fox News Digital. “They’re all in the past. I have pleasant memories of what fun we had — wish them all the best. And no, we don’t talk. I’ve moved on from that horrendous ending and chapter of my life, but you know, I don’t hold any bitterness or nothing to them, but my God, what fun we had on that show.
“And I was sorry they f—ed it all up with their greed and ridiculous stupidity to f— all that up. F— them, but I wish them well,” she said.

Amanda Peet exposes ‘desperation galore’ behind Hollywood fame

Amanda Peet is pulling back the threadbare curtain on life underneath the spotlight.
The 54-year-old actress called out Hollywood as nothing but “smoke and mirrors.”
“It’s ridiculous,” Peet told Fox News Digital when asked about the “biggest misconception” of stars having a “perfect life” in Hollywood. “It’s smoke and mirrors. There’s no there there. I mean you name the aphorism, it applies to us. It’s desperation galore. ‘What are they doing over there? Why don’t I have that? Why don’t I look like that?’ That’s the bad part.”
She continued, “In Hollywood, it’s hard to — I’m gonna just sound corny. It’s competitive, and it’s hard to get out of that really sort of competitive mindset where the piece of cheese on the island is too small and there are too many people going after it.”
The “Something’s Gotta Give” actress added that aging in the youth-obsessed industry isn’t easy either.
“I’m older, so I have much more peace about it, but it’s really, really hard to find that, and it is hard not to want to chase your own buzz if you are lucky enough to have any, and instead, just be like, ‘What do I really want to do when my alarm goes off in the morning? What do I want to be doing? Is this really what I want to be doing? Is this really helpful or useful to anyone?’”
Peet is starring in the second season of Apple TV’s “Your Friends & Neighbors,” which premieres on Friday, April 3 with one new episode each week through June 5.
She said fans can expect a “lot more” from Season 2.
“Then also there’s the issue of Coop having this secret life,” Peet said of Jon Hamm’s character who plays her ex-husband on the show.
“And I think this season, one too many people are starting to get an inkling that something’s going on with Coop,” she continued. “And so it gets more and more dangerous for him to keep doing what he’s doing, which is incredibly exciting. And then [her character] Mel and Coop are still in this kind of like, will they, won’t they? They’re so p—ed off at each other, but they still seem to wanna f— each other. So yeah, it’s just really a whole big hot mess.”
Peet said she also appreciated a storyline where her character deals with going into menopause, which she said was cathartic for her.
“It was very cathartic to be able to put my own menopausal frustrations and rage into an appropriate situation, namely be acting out as a character instead of in my own life,” Peet revealed.
The actress has also been open about her breast cancer diagnosis, which she announced earlier this month.
She told Fox News Digital that when she first heard the news, her thoughts were filled with “terror.”
“My children and terror,” she admitted.
Peet said she made the decision to not tell her dying mother “because she wasn’t well for so long that it was, you know, fairly obvious that I, you know, on the off chance that she would have been able to understand, I wouldn’t have wanted to scare her.”
“So, it wasn’t a hard decision, it was just sort of hard in a more global way because I had been so close to her all my life.”
Peet revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in a New Yorker essay last Saturday, saying that she is stage I and doesn’t need chemotherapy, but will undergo a lumpectomy and radiation.
