Jason Kelce Wears Beret for ESPN Debut, Claims He’s ‘Not Quite Adjusted to American Time Yet’
Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, made quite the statement during his ESPN debut on NFL Countdown on Thursday, August 1. Kelce, who recently returned from the 2024 Paris Olympics, appeared on the panel sporting a stylish beret, reminiscent of his time in Paris.
While sitting alongside Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark, and Marcus Spears, Kelce’s choice of headwear caught the attention of everyone present. Van Pelt praised Kelce’s fashion choice, saying, “I wasn’t sure if you’d wear a tie, I did not know you were going to rock the beret fresh off the plane [from] the Olympics…” Kelce humorously replied, “I’m still on Paris time, so I [felt] I’d go with the Paris headdress.”
The banter continued as Clark jokingly pointed out that Kelce was now a different kind of professional, even wearing underwear for his TV appearances. Kelce joined in on the joke, highlighting that it was a new addition to his wardrobe, emphasizing the importance of his gray suit and the risks of not wearing underwear, referring back to his previous comments on the matter.
Kelce’s ESPN debut marks a new chapter in his career after announcing his retirement from the Eagles in March. Following his retirement, it was revealed that he would be taking his talents to ESPN for their Monday Night Football broadcasts, where fans can expect to see more of his charismatic personality and unique sense of style.
During his time in Paris for the Olympics, Kelce and his wife Kylie were seen enjoying the company of the Team USA rugby team. Kelce even engaged in an arm wrestling challenge with Nicole Heavirland, a member of the Team USA roster. His competitive spirit and light-hearted interactions with the athletes showcased his playful nature and love for sports.
Kelce’s adventures in Paris also included a meet-up with Ilona Maher, who named him the unofficial mascot of Team USA women’s rugby. Their playful exchange on TikTok showcased Kelce’s easygoing personality and ability to connect with athletes from various sports.
Despite the fun and games, there was some controversy when Kelce’s arm wrestling match with Heavirland prompted accusations of cheating from his wife. The light-hearted moment added to the playful dynamic between the athletes and highlighted Kelce’s competitive spirit in a friendly setting.
Kelce’s fashion sense and outgoing personality have endeared him to fans both on and off the field. His transition to ESPN and continued involvement in sports-related activities show that he is not only a talented athlete but also a charismatic individual with a knack for entertaining fans.
As Kelce continues to explore new opportunities and engage with the sports community, fans can expect more exciting moments and light-hearted interactions from the former NFL star. His presence on ESPN brings a fresh perspective and a touch of humor to the world of sports broadcasting, making him a standout personality in the industry.
