Christina Applegate remembers feeling her legs were ‘completely fatigued’ during MS relapse

Christina Applegate, known for her roles in “Dead to Me” and “Bad Moms,” recently opened up about the difficulties she faced during a relapse of her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. In a candid conversation on her podcast “MeSsy” with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, the 52-year-old actress shared the intense leg pain she experienced, describing a feeling of extreme fatigue and lack of circulation in her legs.

During the podcast episode recorded a few months ago, Applegate revealed that her legs were in such bad shape that she struggled to walk or even stand. She described a sensation of tingling and pain running from her buttocks down to her feet, making simple tasks like going to the bathroom or taking a shower nearly impossible.

At one point, Applegate joked about not being able to shower for three weeks and considering buying stock in flushable wipes to stay clean. She shared the challenges of not being able to stand in the shower due to her weakened legs, highlighting the impact of MS on her daily life.

Applegate also mentioned the humorous situation of getting her daughter, Sadie, to sniff her armpits, showcasing her ability to find lightness in difficult circumstances.

As the symptoms of her relapse worsened, Applegate admitted to experiencing trouble sleeping due to issues with her eyes. She described a strange sensation in her right eye that prevented her from getting rest, expressing concerns about her health and the lack of response from her doctor.

A representative for Applegate confirmed that the podcast episode was recorded months ago and that the actress had passed the phase of her relapse. However, it remains unclear whether the recording took place before or after Applegate was seen using a cane at the 2024 Emmys in January.

Since going public with her MS diagnosis in 2021, Applegate has been transparent about her struggles with the disease, referring to it as the “worst thing that’s happened” in her entire life. She shared details about having 30 lesions on her brain, with the largest one behind her right eye causing significant discomfort.

In a separate interview, Applegate discussed the challenges of wearing diapers due to the impact of MS on her bladder control, shedding light on the less glamorous aspects of living with the autoimmune disease.

Despite the hardships she faces, Applegate continues to show resilience and humor in the face of adversity. Her openness about her struggles with MS serves as a reminder of the importance of raising awareness and supporting those living with chronic illnesses.

Through her honest conversations and willingness to share her journey, Christina Applegate inspires others to find strength and courage in the midst of challenges, highlighting the power of vulnerability and authenticity in overcoming obstacles.

Olivia Munn opens up about her decision to have a full hysterectomy during breast cancer fight: ‘It was the right choice for me’

Olivia Munn, the talented actress and mother, recently shared the news of her decision to undergo a full hysterectomy amidst her battle with breast cancer. In a heartfelt interview with Vogue, Olivia opened up about her journey and the difficult choices she has had to make for the sake of her health and family.

Olivia explained that her doctor recommended the hysterectomy as a way to stop the production of estrogen in her body, which luminal B breast cancer feeds on. She described the decision as the best one for her, emphasizing that she needed to be present for her family, especially her son, Malcolm, whom she welcomed with partner John Mulaney in November 2021.

This surgery marked Olivia’s fifth in her cancer journey, adding to a series of other procedures she had previously undergone, including a double mastectomy, lymph node dissection, reconstructive surgery, and a nipple delay. Before opting for the hysterectomy, Olivia had been taking medication that left her bedridden due to severe side effects.

In the interview, Olivia also shared that she had frozen her eggs for the third time, hoping to expand her family in the future. Despite the challenges she has faced, Olivia expressed her gratitude to her loved ones for their unwavering support throughout her battle with cancer. She credited her family, friends, and partner John Mulaney for being her pillars of strength during this trying time.

Olivia’s journey began when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in March, despite testing negative for the BRCA gene and receiving a clear mammogram. Her doctor calculated her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score to be at 37 percent, leading to the discovery of luminal B cancer in both breasts, an aggressive and fast-moving form of the disease.

Throughout it all, Olivia has remained resilient and determined to fight for her health and future. Her story serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection, proactive healthcare choices, and the power of love and support in facing life’s toughest challenges.

As Olivia continues on her journey towards recovery, she inspires others with her strength, courage, and vulnerability. Her story is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to triumph over adversity and find hope in the darkest of times. Olivia Munn’s decision to undergo a hysterectomy was not just a medical choice; it was a declaration of her unwavering commitment to life, love, and the future.
