Jon Stewart surprises Stephen Colbert with a surprise serenade from Andra Day

“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart was one of Stephen Colbert’s final guests as “The Late Show” continues its final week, and he had quite the going-away present for his old friend.
Stewart, 63, and Colbert, 62, reminded fans that they go back decades to the late 1990s, when they both worked together on “The Daily Show” during Stewart’s first hosting stint.
“One of us has not aged as well as the other,” Stewart says of himself, joking, “One of these people is getting age-defying peptides, and the other is getting a placebo.”
The interview ended with Stewart presenting a gift for Colbert, a new recliner, but he had a surprise up his sleeve, bringing out one of Colbert’s favorite singers, Andra Day, which clearly stunned Colbert.
She came out and blew Colbert a few kisses before breaking into her 2015 breakthrough hit “Rise Up” for the comedy titans.
Stewart is no stranger to Colbert’s position, reminiscing on when he was fired from “The Jon Stewart Show,” which was syndicated through Paramount Domestic Television from 1993 to 1995.
“The term back then was ‘s–t-canned.’ I don’t know what they call it now. We had two more weeks to go, and they put security guards at all the exits … We didn’t have anything of value,” Stewart joked.
Stewart added that his show, ““spiraled so out of control” in those final weeks, “because I was not a mature grown-up like you are.”
Stewart’s final guest for that show was David Letterman, adding, “He said to me something very profound. He said, ‘Don’t confuse cancelation with failure.’ … But then he said, ‘But in this case it is also a failure.’”
Stewart also praised “The Late Show” staff, adding they were always, “So game” for whatever he had pitched to them, including a sketch involving alpacas.
“I am not a particularly good long term planner and I would challenge them. I talked to them and I said wouldn’t it be funny if it showed where I would be living at the time. Wouldn’t it be funny if I had a James Bond bookcase where I opened the bookcase and it revealed more of my lair. Wouldn’t it be funny if when it opened, it was revealed that I was raising alpacas? I was coming on the next day and he says to me, ‘They’ll build the room but the alpacas can’t be here till 1,’” Stewart said.
Colbert also welcomed director Steven Spielberg, who was promoting his new film “Disclosure Day,” which hits theaters June 12.

Bunnie Xo makes very surprising announcement after Jelly Roll marriage split

Bunnie Xo is heading back to school after her breakup from country artist Jelly Roll.
The “Dumb Blonde” podcast host, 46 — whose real name is Alisa Carter — revealed she had been accepted into Arizona State University, via her Instagram Story on Friday.
She shared a screenshot of the school’s acceptance message to her, welcoming her into the student body.
“Dr. Xo, loading?” she wrote across the post, which she set to the tune of Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire.”
It was reported last month that Jelly Roll quietly filed for divorce from Bunnie after nearly a decade of marriage on May 18, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, Page Six confirmed.
The country singer, 41, filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, where he and Bunnie lived together.
The exes agreed to divide their assets and debts.
On the June 18 episode of her podcast, Bunnie recalled the fight she had with Jelly Roll that led to their split, in which she told him to “file the f–king divorce papers.”
“On Mother’s Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don’t think the details are necessary. And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, ‘Well, then file the f–king divorce papers,’” she said.
“In our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say, even though my husband has said it numerous times,” she noted. “But, when I say it, it really holds weight because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.”
The argument closed with Bunnie packing a bag and leaving the Grammy winner.
She also revealed that the couple’s IVF journey also complicated their relationship as they suffered several setbacks.
“Yes, everybody gets to see the reward at the end, but it is not all bells and whistles. It is not a beautiful journey,” Bunnie explained.
“It wrecked me emotionally, spiritually, physically. It was so hard on me that for the past year and a half, I became a shell of the person I was because I’m doing this IVF journey. I’m fighting hard just to, you know, be able to produce enough eggs to make a baby with my husband, especially at my age.”
The exes are still planning to welcome a child together despite their breakup.

“Guests ate, drank and hung out on a pink carpet,” a spy told Page Six of the rehearsal dinner — which took place Thursday at the Infosys Theater inside Madison Square Garden. The menu was catered by one of Taylor’s favorite restaurants, Sartiano’s.
The insider added guests exchanged anecdotes throughout the special evening.
Another spy told us the venue’s decor featured a pink chandelier, which seemed to be the color scheme, as the outside of MSG was lit up in blush pink lights. TMZ also obtained a photo of peach-and-pink floral arrangements surrounded by greenery inside MSG.
The rehearsal dinner ran from 6 p.m. to around 10:30 p.m. local time.
Page Six previously reported guests invited to the exclusive wedding event include Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Jack Antonoff and Ashley Avignone.
A spy told us Erin Andrews and her husband, former hockey player Jarret Stoll; Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine; her childhood best friend, Abigail Anderson; Kelce’s manager, Amanda Santa; his longtime friends Ross Travis; Reggie “Regrunt” King and his wife, Sarah; and sports commentator Charissa Thompson were also invited to the rehearsal dinner.

Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds flee NYC ahead of Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s wedding

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were snapped far away from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded rehearsal dinner.
Lively, 38, and Reynolds, 49, supported their daughter Betty as she competed in a horse show in Lake Placid, New York, Thursday in pictures obtained by TMZ. According to the outlet, Betty, 6, placed second in the competition.
The couple dressed casually on the farm where the horse show took place, with Lively wearing a halter top and jean shorts with her hair tied up in a messy bun.
As for Reynolds, he wore a plain white T-shirt, khaki pants and a tan hat.
A source told Page Six last month that Lively — who was previously one of Swift’s closest friends — was not invited to the pop star’s nuptials after their fallout stemming from the actress’ long legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
“There hasn’t been an olive branch when it comes to their friendship,” the insider said. “And Taylor hasn’t extended a wedding invitation to Blake.”
A source previously told Page Six that Swift, 36, “needs space” from the actress after her name was dragged into the lawsuits between Lively and her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, which ended in a surprise settlement in May.
The latest on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding
The singer is “taking a break from their friendship right now. Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn,” the insider said at the time.
“Taylor wants nothing to do with this whole ordeal,” they added. “She has always been a loyal friend to Blake and doesn’t appreciate being thrown into this at all.”
Lively has indeed been noticeably absent from Swift’s wedding festivities. She was spotted grocery shopping solo in New York last month while Swift celebrated her bachelorette weekend with her closest girlfriends at her Rhode Island mansion.
Meanwhile, Swift’s A-list celeb pals — including Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Erin Andrews and more — were snapped arriving to her and Kelce’s rehearsal dinner at Madison Square Garden in New York City Thursday. The dinner ran from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Page Six exclusively confirmed.
Over 1,000 guests are expected to attend Swift and Kelce’s wedding Friday, with a ceremony start time of 5:30 p.m. ET. The reception kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and is expected to end at 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Page Six exclusively reported that Swift and Kelce already said “I do” in private ahead of their lavish MSG celebration. We’re told the couple have already exchanged vows in front of a small group of loved ones.
“They are already married,” our source insisted.
