A court in Texas released photos and videos of evidence used during the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony, including graphic images from the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf.

The evidence was made public on Friday, marking less than two weeks after a jury convicted Anthony, 19, of murder in connection to Metcalf’s death during a high school track meet in Frisco.

Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison on June 9 after jurors rejected his claim that he acted in self-defense.

The materials released by the 296th District Court include crime scene photos, police body-camera footage, 911 recordings, and images of evidence presented to jurors during the trial.

Among the evidence is enhanced security camera video that shows the moments before and after Anthony stabbed Metcalf. A portion of the footage captures Anthony as he ran away from the scene before his arrest.

One clip shows Anthony right after he was handcuffed at the scene. As an officer approaches him, the officer refers to him as the alleged suspect.

“I’m not alleged. I did it,” Anthony says.

In another clip, he sounds as if he is sobbing.

“He put his hands on me. I told him not to. He put his hands on me,” Anthony tells officers as they escort him away from the scene.

Several of the photos contain graphic depictions of Metcalf’s fatal wound, as well as blood-stained clothing, and the knife prosecutors identified as the murder weapon.

The case stemmed from an April 2025 confrontation between Anthony and Metcalf under a team tent during a weather delay at a high school track meet. Prosecutors argued Anthony initiated the violence and stabbed Metcalf to death, while defense attorneys contended Anthony feared for his safety and acted in self-defense.
