Jennifer Lopez determined to make 2025 her year post divorce

If there is one thing you can say about Jennifer Lopez, it’s that she makes a hell of a comeback.
The star was close to tears this week at the premiere of her new movie, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
“There was a standing ovation, not for the movie — which is important, I think — but for her,” said New York Post critic Johnny Oleksinski, who was at the premiere.
“The audience leapt to their feet when she walked out onto the stage of the Eccles Theatre. Same theater where Best Picture nominees like ‘Call Me By Your Name,’ ‘Boyhood,’ Whiplash’ and ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ premiered. That had to have been validating for someone who rarely gets that kind of recognition.”
In fact, Lopez is already earning the 2026 Oscar buzz for the big-screen version of the Tony-winning musical.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” she told the crowd at Park City’s Eccles Theatre. “The reason I even wanted to be in this business is because my mom would sit me in front of the TV and [‘West Side Story’] would come on once a year. I was mesmerized and was like, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ This is the first time I actually got to do it.”
J.Lo’s emotional appearance comes on the heels of her very own annus horribilis — a rocky 2024 that saw the demise of what was supposed to be her fairytale second chance with Ben Affleck.
Last year started off with the release of “This Is Me … Now: A Love Story,” a fever-dream musical trip through Lopez’s four marriages, and the documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” which featured scenes with Affleck.
And although the singer came under fire for pushing their love story into the spotlight — including using Affleck’s love letters for her new album — sources told Page Six that he was the brains behind the doc.
Months later, the pair’s marriage — which came more than 20 years after their first engagement — fell apart in public, while Lopez’s “This Is Me … Now” album met with poor reviews and sales and she canceled her concert tour.
Now Lopez is ready to reinvent. “There’s a lot of positivity for the year ahead,” said a source who knows Lopez, “It’s a big year for her.”
Her Hollywood career is soaring. Her divorce from Affleck was finally wrapped up in early January.
But that doesn’t mean he’s out of her life just yet.
If the movie — which has yet to be bought by a distributor — receives any awards nominations, the pair could easily end up in the same room or even on the same stage.
The exes also teamed up on Lopez’s last movie, the drama “Unstoppable,” in which she played the mother of a wrestler who was born with one leg.
That film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September — just two weeks after Lopez filed for divorce. She turned up in a “f––k it” revenge dress with open sides that showed off her incredibly toned body.
As Page Six revealed at the time, Affleck was nowhere to be seen at any of the screenings, surely by design.
As a Hollywood awards insider told us, “The director and cast can be the face of the film, producers don’t need to be there.”
Despite their break-up, Lopez remains close to Affleck’s kids, Violet, 19, Serafina, 16, and Sam, 9. (Serafina is also best pals with Emme, one of Lopez’ 16-year-old twins along with brother Max.)
We’re also told that Lopez is close to their mom, Affleck’s first wife, Jennifer Garner. “They’re still communicating, they’re on good terms,” said the Lopez source.
As for Affleck, 52, he’s moved on and has bought a new home in the Brentwood area of LA, near Garner. As we revealed, he was spotted with Kick Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., this summer and the pair are believed to have had a casual friendship.
This week, Affleck made a surprise appearance at a Netflix event in Los Angeles to promote the new thriller “‘RIP,” which he and Damon starred in and produced.
“There was an audible gasp when Ben came into the theater,” said an industry insider who was there. “It was only 9 a.m. but several women in the front row commented afterwards how amazing he looks.”
Affleck was spotted talking to The Duffer brothers, the creators of the Netflix hit “Stranger Things.” and the insider added: “Last time I saw him he was with J. Lo. It was just after their marriage, and you could see the strain on his face. He didn’t look happy like a newlywed should, he seemed stressed out. Seeing him this week was such a marked change. He looks healthy and like he doesn’t have a care in the world.”
Lopez, meanwhile, is also producing her own projects for Netflix. Her company Nuyorican is making a series out of the Emily Henry bestselling novel “Happy Place,” which “Bridgerton” Emmy nominee Leila Cohan is co-writing and show running for the streamer.
Keeping with the theme of her comeback year, Lopez was honored with the Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival in January.
“I’m humbled; I’m blown away … ” she said at the time. “But I still have so much more to do. I’m at the halfway mark. I feel like my best work is in front of me. My biggest projects are in front of me, and my biggest successes. Everything is in the future.”
“Kiss of the Spider Woman” is a feature adaptation of the Broadway musical, which won Chita Rivera a Tony Award in 1993 for the role now played by Lopez onscreen.
When the topic of Oscars buzz was brought up, Lopez said she didn’t “even want to begin the conversation” — although, she added, “Of course, I would love it to get the recognition that I believe it deserves.”
In 2020, Lopez was expected to make the Oscars shortlist for playing an enterprising stripper in “Hustlers” but failed to get a nomination — which some in Hollywood chalked up to snobbery.
The snub hurt, Lopez admitted in her 2022 Netflix doc “Halftime,” as she talked about her struggle “to be heard, to be seen, to be taken seriously” in Hollywood.
“It was hard. I just had very low self-esteem,” she said,“I had to really figure out who I was and believe in that, and not believe in anything else.”
She’s soon to start filming a new Netflix rom-com, “Office Romance” with “Ted Lasso” heartthrob Brett Goldstein.
He has made no secret that he had a crush on Lopez.
Fans found a clip of Goldstein, who co-wrote the project, talking about Lopez on a 2018 episode of his “Films to Be Buried With” podcast.
“F–king hell … ” he said of his future co-star. “I love her.”

Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, 24, found dead at home

Korean star Kim Sae-ron was found dead in her home on Sunday. She was 24.
According to the Korean Herald, the “Bloodhounds” actress’s body was discovered in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, by a friend who had plans to meet with her.
Local police are investigating the cause of Sae-ron’s death and have not seen any signs of a break-in.
“We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death,” a police official reportedly said.
Sae-ron started her acting career as a child in 2009.
She rose to fame with her roles in the 2010 film “The Man from Nowhere” and the 2012 movie “The Neighbor.”
Most recently, Sae-ron starred in the 2023 Netflix hit “Bloodhounds,” which tells the story of two young boxers who band together with a moneylender to take down a loan shark who preys on the poor.
Sae-ron’s career took a hit after she crashed into trees, guard rails and a transformer while driving under the influence in Gangnam District, Seoul, in May 2022.
After the accident, the “A Girl at My Door” star issued a hand-written apology online, writing that she “made a big mistake while drinking.”
“I caused damage to so many people, including merchants, citizens, and those who restored it. I should have acted more carefully and responsibly, but I couldn’t. I sincerely apologize,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Once again, we deeply apologize and apologize for causing concern. There is no excuse for this unfortunate incident. I am disappointed and very ashamed of the mistakes I have made.”
The following year, Sae-ron was fined 20 million won ($13,874.82) for the incident.

Woman Accuses Her Husband’s ‘Work Wife’ of Ruining Their Marriage

The old saying goes, “Happy wife, happy life,” but one upset woman is claiming her husband isn’t quite living by that mantra.
Amy, 31, revealed on Reddit’s “TrueOffMyChest” forum on Feb. 9 that she’s at her “wit’s end” with her husband, 32, his “work wife,” 30 and “his complete inability to see what’s happening” among the three of them.
“I need to know if I’m going crazy here,” she wrote. “Where do I even start? Three years ago, my husband Mark started working with Sarah. At first, I tried to be welcoming. I invited her to our BBQs, included her in group outings and genuinely tried to be friendly.”
“Big mistake,” Amy emphasized, before recalling, “She spent the entire time making backhanded comments about everything from my career (‘Oh, you’re just a yoga instructor? How … peaceful.’) to my cooking (‘I guess not everyone can master basic seasoning.’).”
More recently, in January, Amy noticed an anniversary mug she gifted her husband was no longer at his work desk when she visited his office.

Amy’s husband told her that Sarah had “accidentally” knocked it over, causing the mug to break, so he threw it away.
“When I got upset, Mark said I was being too sensitive,” Amy remembered, adding, “IT WAS A MUG WITH OUR WEDDING PHOTO ON IT.”
She noted Mark said Sarah didn’t think the mug “fit the office aesthetic.”
The wife wrote that “the real problem” is he thinks Sarah is “just being funny.”
Listing some of Sarah’s “greatest hits” that have irked her, Amy wrote: “She scheduled a ‘mandatory’ work dinner on our anniversary. She convinced Mark not to take a promotion because it would mean working with a different team.” Continuing, she added, “She posts daily photos of them together with hashtags like #WorkPowerCouple and #WorkSpouse. She tells everyone at their office that she takes better care of him than I do. She changed his coffee order and now tells everyone she ‘trained him right.’ ”
“The worst part? My husband is completely blind to all of this,” the wife explained. “Yesterday, he actually told me about how Sarah said our new house (which we spent months searching for) was ‘charming, in a starter home kind of way.’ He repeated this while LAUGHING.”
In response, Amy said Sarah described her as “just insecure.”
“She’s managed to insert herself into every aspect of our lives. They text constantly — even on weekends,” the wife wrote. “She knows his schedule better than I do. She rearranged his entire desk and office wardrobe because his style was ‘too suburban husband.’ THAT’S WHAT HE IS!”

Recently, Amy recommended marriage counseling to her husband.
“He looked genuinely confused,” she recalled. ”He of course went and talked to Sarah about it. I found out from another coworker that she’s been telling people that Mark and I are ‘going through a rough patch’ and that she’s ‘just being a good friend by giving him someone to talk to.’ We weren’t going through anything until she started this nonsense!”

Amy added that she reached her “breaking point” during a recent office visit.
“I stopped by his office to surprise him with lunch (it was his birthday and Sarah was supposedly out sick),” she wrote. “Guess who was there? Sarah. She’d ‘miraculously recovered’ and bought him a cake that said, ‘To my work hubby,’ with a photo of them from the office holiday party.”
“She saw me and said, ‘Oh, Amy! You came too … how nice. Mark, you didn’t tell me your real wife was coming!’ I’m not crazy, right?” Amy wondered. “This woman is trying to destroy my marriage while my husband stands there grinning like it’s all some big joke.”
Seeking outside opinions, Amy then asked the Reddit forum, “What do I do? Divorce seems extreme, but I’m running out of options here.“
Within 24 hours of sharing her story, the post garnered nearly 2,000 responses, with commenters providing advice on what she should do next.
“There is always going to be women like this out there. It’s how your husband reacts that is the problem,” one person replied. “His blatant and constant disrespect is totally unacceptable and the fact that he’s ignoring your feelings on this means you need to now make him see how serious you are. If you don’t change up how you’re reacting and show him you mean business, he’s not changing at this point.”
A second reader noted that “Sarah is not the problem” and that “your husband doesn’t respect your vows or you.”
Another Redditor concluded, “You’d be right to offer a final ultimatum, but honestly if it’s coming to that, just chose yourself first. You deserve better. It’ll be hard but you won’t have these shitty feelings.”

Britney Spears and on-off boyfriend Paul Soliz enjoy low-key date night on Valentine’s Day

Mama, she’s in love with a (former) criminal.
Britney Spears was spotted enjoying a low-key date night with her ex-convict boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz, on Valentine’s Day.
The “Toxic” singer, 43, and Soliz drove around Los Angeles together. And because they had his kids with them, they went casual for dinner by grabbing fast food at Jack-in-the-Box.
Later, they made a stop so Soliz could buy Spears flowers.
Spears and her on-off boyfriend appeared in good spirits during their outing, as they were seen laughing in the car together.
This new outing comes a week after the Princess of Pop and Soliz were spotted at an indoor playground in San Fernando Valley, Calif., with two of his children.
Page Six broke the news in August 2023 that Spears was spending a lot of time with Soliz, whom she initially hired to perform maintenance duties around her multimillion-dollar mansion, following her split from Sam Asghari.
While an insider initially told us they were “concerned” for the singer since Soliz has a criminal history — he was previously charged with multiple misdemeanors and a felony — she doesn’t seem to be too alarmed by his past run-ins with the law.
They have had their fair share of drama throughout their relationship, though.
In May 2024, an ambulance was called to the Chateau Marmont after Spears and Soliz allegedly had a dispute at the hotel. Two months later, the “Gimme More” singer revealed she was “single as f–k.”
Just weeks later, however, they reunited for an outing with his kids at a trampoline park.
While the licensed contractor has nine kids in total, we’re told he only has custody of three of his children. Spears, meanwhile, shares two kids with ex-husband Kevin Federline — sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18.
