Julianne Hough’s brother Derek finds new hope following wife Hayley’s brain surgeries

Julianne Hough and Brother Derek Relationship Strengthened After Wife’s Health Crisis
Julianne Hough, known for her appearances on “Dancing with the Stars,” has put aside any previous grievances with her brother Derek following a family medical emergency. In December, Derek’s wife, Hayley Erbert, underwent emergency surgery for a cranial hematoma, which has had a profound impact on their relationship. Julianne, 36, opened up about this experience, stating that it has given them a “clean slate.”
In an interview with People magazine, Julianne expressed how life-changing events like Derek’s wife’s health crisis can make other issues seem insignificant. The scare of potentially losing a loved one puts everything into perspective and brings about a sense of clarity and unity within the family. Despite any past conflicts or competition between them, Julianne emphasized that nothing matters more than being there for each other in times of need.
Hayley Erbert, who married Derek in August 2023 after eight years of dating, was rushed to the hospital in December when she became disoriented after a performance. Doctors diagnosed her with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel, leading to two emergency brain surgeries. The Mayo Clinic describes an intracranial hematoma as a collection of blood within the brain tissue or underneath the skull, causing pressure on the brain.
After undergoing surgery to insert a skull implant to protect her brain, Hayley began her recovery process. Derek called his wife’s recovery “nothing short of a miracle,” highlighting the strength and resilience she showed throughout this challenging time. Julianne also acknowledged the ups and downs that come with family relationships, underscoring the importance of staying connected and supporting each other.
Julianne shared that despite differences in beliefs and opinions, her family remains a source of strength and love. She recognized that disconnecting oneself from loved ones, even to protect oneself, can be painful and that the ultimate goal is to foster a deep connection with one another. Tough times, like the challenges faced by Derek and Hayley, can bring families closer together and remind them of the importance of unity and support.
Julianne has also been a pillar of support for her sister Catherine, who experienced a heartbreaking loss two years ago. Through these trials, Julianne has gained a greater appreciation for the compassion and empathy that exist within humanity. She believes that despite conflicts and divisions in society, people ultimately want to come together and support each other in times of need.
In conclusion, Julianne Hough’s experience with her brother Derek’s wife’s health crisis has highlighted the strength of family bonds and the resilience that emerges during challenging times. Through moments of crisis, relationships can be strengthened, grievances can be set aside, and a renewed sense of unity and love can prevail. Ultimately, it is the support and connection between family members that matter most when faced with life’s difficulties.

Drew Barrymore calls Meghan Markle by Sussex surname after she corrects Mindy Kaling

Drew Barrymore is learning from Mindy Kaling’s mistake.
The talk show host referred to Meghan Markle by her Sussex surname in a preview of Thursday’s installment of her eponymous talk show.
“This is the Fast Five with Meghan Sussex,” Barrymore, 50, said at the start of a segment.
The introduction came one day after the Duchess of Sussex made headlines for correcting Kaling on her “With Love, Meghan” Netflix show when the “Office” star referred to her as “Meghan Markle.”
The “Suits” alum, 43, laughed while pointing out how “funny” it was that Kaling, 45, repeatedly called her that.
She said, “You know I’m Sussex now.”
Markle went on to explain how “meaningful” it felt to share a surname with her children — Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Page Six reported in February that the little ones last names had been changed to Sussex.
“You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children,’” Markle said in the second episode of the series. “It just means so much to go, ‘This is our family name, our little family name.’”
Kaling replied, “Now I know. And I love it.”
In a cover story published Monday, Markle similarly opened up to People about why it “meant a lot” to have the last name in common with her kids.
“It’s our shared name as a family. I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together,” she gushed, referring to husband Prince Harry by her nickname for him.
Elsewhere in her “Drew Barrymore Show” interview, Markle told viewers why she feels “very lucky” to be married to the Duke of Sussex, who has promised to “always date” her.
“We have this connection, I think, because we’re so committed to treating each other the same way you did before you had a ring on it, before it was locked down — when you’re just courting each other and you can see all the good and joy in that butterfly period,” she explained.
“That’s, I think, what keeps things really alive,” the former actress concluded.

Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy Says It’s ‘Really Hard to Accept’ His Death

Kate Cassidy is getting candid about dealing with the death of her late partner Liam Payne.
The 25-year-old influencer said it’s been “really hard to accept” losing Payne in a tearful interview while discussing how she’s been coping since his death on U.K. morning show Lorraine on Wednesday, March 5.
“I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense … I don’t even feel the need to correct myself because that’s part of my healing journey,” said Cassidy. “I’m still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore, so it’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense.”
“When I do refer to him in the past tense, it almost stings that little bit more,” she continued, getting emotional. “I never would have thought that I would be talking about him in the past tense, so it’s definitely really hard to accept.”
Cassidy said in the interview that “sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning” and that she has “my better days [and] harder days.”
“It is really hard. I’ve never lost anybody before close to me so this is my first time dealing with anything like this and going through this grief and healing journey,” she said. “…I am trying to do my best. I have my better days, I have my harder days. But I’m surrounded by such a great support system.”
Payne died at age 31 after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires on Oct. 16, 2024.

Cassidy added while appearing on Lorraine to support their March4March campaign that her dog Nala, who she shared with Payne, has “helped with her healing journey” since losing him by prompting her to get out of the house and go for walks every day.
“Whether it’s a five-minute walk or 20-minute walk, first thing in the morning [it] just wakes me up and refreshes my mind,” she said. “Instead of laying in bed all day just scrolling through social media or old photos, it gets me out of bed and really, really helps my mindset and my mental health.”

Cassidy shared that she is “trying to be as productive as I can,“ doing “small things like yoga” to also help improve her headspace and thanked her “friends [and] family, just for being there for me.”
She added of Payne, “I’ll always have so much love for him … His presence was just comforting and warming and that’s something that I’ll never forget about him.”
Cassidy’s latest interview comes after she gave her first interview since Payne’s death with U.K. newspaper The Sun last month and said that she wished she had stayed with him in Argentina rather than returning to their home in Florida.

Why Kyle Richards removed ‘wife’ from Instagram bio amid Mauricio Umansky separation

Kyle Richards explained why she removed “wife” from her Instagram bio amid her separation from Mauricio Umansky.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said that she felt “stupid” having the title in her bio after Umansky was spotted kissing Nikita Kahn in Mykonos in July 2024.
“I am not going to be sitting here having ‘wife’ on my Instagram bio with him running around with people. Why would I?” Richards said on Tuesday’s episode of the reality show, per People.
“In the past, it’s been hard for me to think about taking ‘wife’ off my bio or my married last name, but the picture changed that for me,” she added of Umansky’s PDA-packed photos with Kahn.
Richards, 56, also pointed out that Umansky, 54, had already changed his Instagram bio before she did.
“He took ‘husband and father’ off his bio and just put ‘CEO of the Agency,’” she told her sister Kathy Hilton during the episode.
“Why am I going to have that on there still after seeing that? I feel stupid. You know what I mean?”
When Hilton, 65, encouraged her sister to find out who the mystery woman was, Richards opted to take the high road.
“It doesn’t matter, I don’t even care. I don’t want to dig, I don’t care. I don’t care who she is,” she told Hilton. “That doesn’t matter. [All I care] about is, right now, I need to move on.”
Later in the episode, Richards opened up about seeing her estranged husband kiss another woman during a conversation with on-and-off pal Dorit Kemsley, per TooFab.
“Mau did text an apology,” she told Kemsley, before adding that Umansky should “have more discretion.”
During the “RHOBH After Show,” Richards further explained that her decision to nix “wife” from her Instagram bio signified that she was “moving on” from the real estate mogul.
“I knew that in me doing that people would talk about it because everything is being looked at through a magnifying glass,” she said.
“So I thought well this is not just a little step — I know people are going to talk about it, so it’s actually a bigger step because it’s also letting people know I am also moving on.”
The TV personality’s Instagram bio currently reads: “Mom, actor, author, producer, animal lover, a RHOBH, CAA.”
Months before removing the “wife” title from her account, Richards dropped Umansky’s last name on social media.
Although the two have not yet filed for divorce, Umansky has been spotted with several different women since they confirmed their separation in July 2023.
The “Buying Beverly Hills” alum was most recently photographed getting cozy with model Klaudia K in Aspen, Colo., in December 2024.
Richards, for her part, sparked romance rumors with Morgan Wade. However, she has denied being more than friends with the country singer.
