Anna Sawai has a request for fans after she and Zendaya wore nearly identical looks to the Met Gala.
The Shōgun star, 32, made her Met Gala debut Monday, May 5, in an all-white pantsuit look strikingly similar to Zendaya, a long-time Met Gala fan-favorite attendee. While both actresses’ looks were tailored uniquely to them, their ensembles’ similarity sparked commentary online.
Sawai addressed the chatter in an Instagram post shared on Thursday, May 8, sharing several behind-the-scenes looks at her Met Gala outfit. In the caption, the actress wrote, “Late but FIRST MET GALA🤍🤍🤍” before giving credit to her team, including her stylist Karla Welch.
Sawai continued, seemingly giving a nod to Zendaya: “I know a lot of people have a lot to say, and trust me, I admire her too🤣🤍 But most importantly, I’m so happy with my look, so please be happy for me too xx.”
In an interview on the Met Gala carpet with Access Hollywood, Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, was seen reacting live to Sawai entering the carpet in a look similar to the one he curated for Zendaya. He jokingly said, “Oop! Who wore it better?” before laughing and walking off camera.

Both Zendaya, 28, and Sawai’s looks were all-white pantsuits accessorized with wide-brim hats to match. Zendaya wore a white form-fitting, three-piece custom Louis Vuitton zoot suit designed by Pharrell Williams, complete with a matching tie, wide-brimmed hat, and sparkling brooch pinned below her back collar.
Sawai made her Met Gala debut in a Dior outfit down to the collared shirt, white tie and wide-brimmed hat. One key difference in their looks was Sawai wore wide-legged pants while Zendaya wore flared.
The intricate tailoring details for both stars played into the Gala’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Vogue announced Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Williams and Anna Wintour would be co-chairs for this year’s Met Gala in October 2024, alongside LeBron James as an honorary chair. The event is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Sawai is having a major year of career growth. In January, she took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series-Drama. The following month, she won a Screen Actors’ Guild Award (SAG) for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role in Shōgun.

Bravo flagship ‘RHONY’ going off the air, network ‘hopes’ to revive it

It’s a milestone moment for Bravo: one of its flagship shows, “The Real Housewives New York City,” is going off the air, Page Six has learned — with no firm plans for its return.
The show, which premiered in 2008, has consistently been one of the most beloved, presitigious and buzzed-about in the reality giant’s schedule, and it has launched the careers of Bravo A-listers like Bethenny Frankel, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon.
Only the original “Housewives” show, “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” has been around longer.
Now Page Six is told that the network has decided to take it off the air, with “hopes” to reconfigure it. But it doesn’t seem as if there’s any great expectation that it’ll be back any time soon.
“We’re trying to figure that show out,” said an insider. “We want to figure it out. We think there’s still life in it.”
But they warned that other shows have sat on ice for years before being revived — such as “The Real Housewives of Miami,” which was canceled in 2013 and didn’t return until 2021.
An insider said that execs do expect it to return at some point and in some form, but certainly not with all of its current cast.
In 2021 “Housewives” honcho Andy Cohen and other brass took to bold and unprecedented decision to “split” the show in two, airing a gut-renovated version of the “main” show as “The Real Housewives of New York City,” and a second show that was to be called “The Real Housewives of New York City: Legacy” and would feature the “original” cast including de Lesseps, Morgan, Bensimon and Zarin, among others.
It is now safe to say that plan did not work, since both halves have gone off their air within four years.
As Page Six reported at the time, the “Legacy” edition fell apart during contract negotiations. It eventually aired as a one-off special edition of the “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” series.
Then the “main” show, recast with J Crew savant Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield, premiered in 2023.
As Page Six reported at the time, it immediately faced a crisis after cast members allegedly used racial slurs on set (something an irony since part of the reason for the dissolution of the original series was a human resources complaint about the very same slur). Since then, it has faced fluctuating ratings and cast members who refuse to shoot with each other because of on-set feuds that have spun out of control.
Meanwhile, we’re told that attempts to overhaul the cast have stumbled because many New York women who don’t want to be involved. “At this point they seen peoples marriages ruined, their kids lives ruined, their businesses ruined,” said an insider, “It’s just not a very desirable thing to sign up for.”
A Bravo spokesperson said: “Nothing is official. The show hasn’t been cancelled.”

Joanna Gaines Wore a Sweater Vest Top, Flare Jeans, and Platform Shoes

Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.
I may very well be one of the most indecisive people on the planet. But maybe Joanna Gaines is, too, just not for the reasons you may think.
Earlier this week, the Fixer Upper star filmed a segment for Good Morning America in the half-shirt, half-sweater (could it also be part vest?) style I’m now currently captivated by. In all honesty, I didn’t even know it was possible for something to look that breezy and warm at the same time, and yet here we are. Meghan Markle also recently wore one, which further solidifies that I can no longer go halfsies on the trend — I’m all in.
Her flare jeans also made me swell with excitement since I’ve been seeing the retro, celeb-worn style on the up again, while her chunky heels looked like the leverage I need to fix up my summer outfits the way Gaines does for houses.

Wiffgo Cropped Sweater Vest Top

Sleeveless sweater tops feel like they’re truly made for the people who can’t make up their mind (a.k.a. me) and the people who can never get their body temperature to regulate (also me.) How so? The no-sleeves design keeps sweat from pooling in the underarm area and creating pit stains, while the knit fabric is going to be heavier and warmer than a linen shirt.
Old Navy High-Waisted Wow Flare Jeans

These flare jeans deserve all the fanfare: They have a high-rise waistline, which I hope and pray never goes out of style, and a fit that borders somewhere between tight and baggy. The fly also zips, which I’ve found is more accommodating to weight fluctuations, and according to reviewers, they’re “slimming,” “stretchy,” and “soft,” which, yes, let’s go! The best-selling pair also happens to be discounted by 35 percent.

Gaines is good with a bit of height and platform shoes in general (see here!), and I am, too. You know why? They’re a lot more stable than pumps or stilettos, which I need since I’m pretty clumsy. And this pair has ankle straps, so they won’t be going anywhere, and a thick block heel that won’t sink into grass.
I know footwear is never a one-size-fits-all type of thing, so if wedge sandals are easier for you to walk in or square-toe mules match more of your clothing, don’t change things on account of me — they’re all cute!
