Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are $2M deep in contractor debt

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are staring down more than $2.1 million in unpaid contractor debt tied to their sprawling upstate New York estate. It is a financial headache that arrives at arguably the worst possible moment for a couple that has watched its business empire take a beating over the past year.
Five contractors and subcontractors filed mechanics liens against the couple’s 110-acre property in Lewisboro last month, with Westchester County records showing the combined claims total $2.1 million according to the Daily Mail.
The biggest hit came from FlowCon Inc., doing business as Flower Construction, which is seeking $1.35 million for work that allegedly included framing, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, drywall, masonry, waterproofing, painting and millwork, documents obtained by The Post show. Additional claims cover custom copper roofing, structural steel fabrication, rough carpentry, geothermal excavation and septic installation. No lien releases or discharges appeared in county records.
The project, a passion play eight years in the making, was supposed to be their forever home. The couple quietly acquired the South Salem compound through an LLC in 2018, then added a $1.6 million four-bedroom parcel and four surrounding plots two years later.
The buildout, which they envisioned as a geothermal-powered and environmentally conscious retreat, includes a 14,500-square-foot main residence, a 3,306-square-foot pool house for a 1,000-square-foot swimming pool, a 1,702-square-foot gym and accompanying septic and stormwater systems. Construction is believed to have stalled sometime around late 2025 or early 2026.
At a 2022 planning board hearing, Lively was effusive about her feelings for the property, describing it as “heaven” and “the most beautiful place in the world.”
“We love this land so much. We’re so grateful to have this land and to have such space and such privacy,” she told town officials.
She said the couple was “desperate to get shovels in the ground and be living on this land.” Their attorney, Michael Sirignano, confirmed the couple had “no plans” to sell any of the surrounding lots, saying the intent was for it to “remain a family compound” for Lively, Reynolds and their four children.
That compound is still unfinished. And the liens raise uncomfortable questions about what the couple’s bruising legal war with director Justin Baldoni may have cost them off-screen.
Lively sued Baldoni, her co-star and director on “It Ends With Us,” for creating a hostile work environment. Baldoni countersued for $400 million. The case churned through months of explosive accusations, leaked texts and legal filings before both parties reached a settlement earlier this month, just two weeks before trial was set to begin. No money changed hands.
Lively is still pushing to recover legal fees tied to Baldoni’s failed countersuit, though a judge recently denied her request to submit additional filings.
Tens of millions in legal fees and reputational damage accrued on both sides. For Lively specifically, the cost has extended well beyond the courtroom.
Before the Baldoni dispute erupted publicly, Lively was positioned as one of Hollywood’s most commercially valuable celebrities. Her husband had already demonstrated a Midas touch in the spirits and telecom space, having built Aviation Gin into a brand acquired by Diageo for $610 million in 2020 and Mint Mobile into one snapped up by T-Mobile for $1.35 billion in 2023.
Lively’s own venture, Blake Brown, a haircare line launched at Target back in August 2024, was widely expected to be the retailer’s next major beauty breakout, with projections pointing toward $100 million in brand value.
It did not go that way. The brand launched into the storm of the Baldoni fallout, and the numbers told a grim story fast.
According to Puck, which reviewed Target sales data, Blake Brown pulled in more than $5 million in its first month.
By the time Lively filed her lawsuit and Baldoni countersued in early 2025, weekly sales had slumped to a range that left the line unranked in Target’s top 50 haircare brands. A person familiar with the brand’s performance told Puck it “went from a $100 million brand to a $15 million brand,” calling it “a non-conversation” at Target. Sales had plunged more than 87% from their peak.
Aviation Gin and Mint Mobile also faced softened demand and pulled campaigns during the chaos. Lively’s legal team has claimed reputational damages of up to $300 million.
Representatives for the contractors and for Lively did not respond to requests for comment.

Chris Pratt, wife Katherine Schwarzenegger have family outing after actor’s ex Anna Faris’ rare divorce revelation

Chris Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, were feeling patriotic as they celebrated the Fourth of July with family.
Pratt, 47, and Schwarzenegger, 36, took their three children — daughters Lyla, 5, Eloise, 4, and son Ford, 1 — to the Fourth of July parade commemorating America’s 250th anniversary in Montecito, California, Saturday. They were photographed alongside Katherine’s family, including her mom, Maria Shriver, her brother Patrick Schwarzenegger, and the “White Lotus” alum’s wife, model Abby Champion.
Pratt and Katherine were on theme, both wearing t-shirts and baseball caps with the American flag printed on them. The “Jurassic World” star held hands with one of his daughters, who wore a dress with the American flag on it.
Katherine, dressed down in jeans, held hands with the couple’s other daughter, who kept the patriotism going by rocking a white shirt with an American flag on it.
Meanwhile, Patrick and Champion kept their arms around one another and were festive in red, white and blue outfits for the parade. Patrick sported a blue and white top with a red bandanna on his neck, while his wife wore a red dress with a blue bandanna in her hair.
Pratt also shares a son, 13-year-old Jack, with his ex-wife, Anna Faris. The “Scary Movie” actress spoke out about their failed marriage last month in an interview with Variety.
The exes were married for eight years before pulling the plug in 2018. Faris, 49, admitted she was “sad” and that producing her podcast, “Anna Faris Is Unqualified,” helped her get through the difficult time.
“I’m lucky that at that time I had my podcast,” she recalled. “I wanted, like, four people to listen and to build my own secret community. I wanted an avenue outside of Hollywood as a way to connect with people.”
Faris said she was thinking about retirement with her podcast, and writing to make money — but life didn’t turn out that way.
“But now, I feel like the opportunities are more bountiful than they’ve ever been!” she said. “I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude. When people see me, they usually smile and say, ‘Oh, I love ‘The House Bunny!’’ or ‘Oh, I love ‘Scary Movie!’’ or ”Mom’ helped me through that hard time.’”
Faris has also since moved on romantically. She married cinematographer Michael Barrett, 56, in 2021.
She told paps at the time that the two decided to elope in a small courthouse wedding because “with a little bit of age, you don’t need the whole thing.”

Taylor Swift’s teacher Kirk Schwabe dies after cancer battle on same day as singer’s MSG wedding to Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift’s former teacher died on the same day as her wedding to Travis Kelce in New York City.
Kirk Schwabe — who taught Swift criminal justice at Hendersonville High School in Nashville and later worked as her security guard — died amid his battle with metastatic kidney cancer on Friday at age 69, his family told The Telegraph.
Schwabe’s daughter Sarah Gordon revealed on Thursday that her dad had been moved to hospice care after his health had “declined rapidly.”
“Over the past several weeks, his health has declined rapidly and he has now been moved to hospice care,” Gordon wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“If you know my dad, you know he has poured his heart into everything he’s done,” Sarah continued. “He has always loved teaching. He loves his students.”
Gordon posted a photo of Swift with her dad while holding a framed record plaque commemorating the release of her 2006 self-titled debut album, “Taylor Swift.”
Schwabe was a police officer in Chicago before he became a criminal justice educator and taught Swift from 2004 to 2006, while the “Opalite” singer was in her mid-teens.
Before his death, Schwabe said he believed his former student had found the right partner in Kelce.
“I do trust Taylor’s judgment. She knows what’s best,” he said in an interview with The Telegraph which was published on July 2.
Schwabe recalled telling Swift that her life was about to change as her career took off.
“I told her, you’re a superstar. This is not fun and games no more. You are it. Everything keeps going up and up and up, and the sky’s the limit for you,” he said.
While working as Swift’s security guard, Schwabe admitted he watched her rise to fame with “panic.”
“If anything happens, I’m the guy,” he said. “We got four or five hundred people in here, and I got some extra security guards, but I don’t know a lot of these guys who got hired, I don’t know what their qualifications are.”
“He treated her like he did his daughters,” his wife Jane added.
Schwabe later left his job as Swift’s security guard after becoming burned out, but remained fond of the singer.
When the pop star made a cameo in the 2010 film “Valentine’s Day,” her character’s teacher was named “Mr. Schwabe,” in reference to the beloved educator.
Swift and Kelce married in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden officiated by Adam Sandler on Friday.
Although Schwabe did not live to see the wedding, his family told the outlet he remained proud of Swift’s success and was happy for both her and Kelce ahead of the ceremony.
Swift’s aunt Robin Gentry revealed the couple “cried and they laughed and they danced and they hugged and they kissed,” adding there was “lots” of food and that guests were served cake.
Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand” for the couple, while Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks also took the stage.
Signs outside MSG read “JUST&T MARRIED” to announce the news that the couple had made things official.

Selena Gomez glitters in gold Oscar de la Renta dress at Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce wedding

No champagne problems here.
Selena Gomez chose a bejeweled Oscar de la Renta gown covered in crystals for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. Her gorgeous gold gown included spaghetti straps and fringe detail at the hem.
She wore her hair in a soft bob, subtly curled under to give the look a “Great Gatsby” feel, and finished the outfit with matching champagne-toned pumps.
The 33-year-old multihyphenate was among the 1,000 guests who witnessed Swift and Kelce tie the knot at MSG in an over-the-top ceremony on Friday, July 3. She was also in attendance at a more intimate 100-person rehearsal dinner Thursday night, dressed in another Oscar de la Renta look.
Her strapless, floral-appliquéd LBD was finished with delicate threadwork, and Gomez wore her hair in a sleek chignon.
The “Only Murders in the Building” actress added diamond drop earrings and a matching ring by Fernando Jorge totaling more than $40,000, along with a bezel-set ring from Grown Brilliance.
Swift and Gomez have been best friends for nearly two decades, having first met while on a double date with Nick and Joe Jonas. Though their respective relationships with the brothers ended, their friendship has endured.
Here’s latest on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at MSG:
Though the “Love Story” singer eschewed a typical bridal party, choosing just her brother to serve as man of honor, Swift attended Gomez’s wedding and got ready with the bride as she married Benny Blanco in September 2025.
For the occasion, Swift wore a gold Oscar de la Renta gown covered in floral embroidery — making Gomez’s choice to return the favor extra special.
For her own walk down the aisle, Swift wore a custom Dior Haute Couture wedding gown by Jonathan Anderson.
