Celebrity chef blasts Meghan Markle’s ‘painful to watch’ Netflix show

British celebrity chef Jameson Stocks described Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” as “painful to watch” after UK critics slammed the show.
“I honestly thought it was terrible,” he told GB News in an interview Saturday.
The Michelin-starred chef went on to say that “everything” about the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle series was tiresome.
“The music is quite slow, it’s quite lethargic, it’s quite painful to watch,” Stocks said.
He also suggested that Markle, 43, should return to acting like her days on “Suits.”
“She’s quite a good actress, in real life or on screen,” Stocks said. “People should stick to what they do best.”
The chef and author — who has served as an ambassador for King Charles III’s Prince’s Trust — also claimed that Netflix reached out to him about being a consultant on Markle’s show.
“I was asked last year by Netflix if I wanted to consult on a lifestyle program. They didn’t go into too much detail about who it was but I already kind of knew who it was anyway,” Stocks claimed.
He said he declined the offer out of fear of backlash.
“I felt like even if she produced a really great program, which I was quite skeptical of, that I might get a little bit slammed for being a part of it,” he said.
“I didn’t like the idea of me showing her how to do something and then it being forced and fake,” Stocks continued. “If she is going to do something herself, she should do something herself.”
Page Six reached out to reps for Markle for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Meanwhile, Michael Steed — the director of “With Love, Meghan” — emphasized that it was never their goal to portray Markle as a chef.
“Her cooking is pretty spot-on. She’s not a chef, and it’s definitely not meant to make it seem like she is, but there’s just a love of cooking that is palpable,” he told People in an interview published Saturday.
Steed went on to say that “everyone has their own version of her, but she’s just someone who’s constantly hustling and working.”
The eight-episode series — which debuted March 4 — shows Markle cooking meals alongside pals like Mindy Kaling, Abigail Spencer and chef Roy Choi.
The former working royal also divulges details about her home life with husband Prince Harry and their two kids, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Despite the negative reviews from critics, “With Love, Meghan” was already renewed for Season 2 less than a week after its premiere.

What Rita Wilson told Tom Hanks after she was diagnosed with breast cancer

Rita Wilson told Tom Hanks after her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015 that if she were to die, she wanted him to be “sad for a very long time.”
The actress recalled the couple’s heartfelt conversation about her health battle while speaking with Demi Moore at the Sound of a Woman: Rita Wilson in Conversation event in New York City on Tuesday.
“I said to Tom, I’m like, ‘Okay, if, if something happens and I go first, I just have two requests. And one is that you should be sad for a very, very long time,’” Wilson, 69, explained, per People.
Her second request for Hanks, 69, was to “throw me a party.”
“I want it to be a celebration of life,” Wilson remembered telling Hanks. “I want it to be about people telling stories and joy and, remembering me in that way.”
“And I think people, a lot of people want that, you know?” she added. “I think there’s room for that.”
Wilson, who has been married to Hanks since 1988, underwent a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery after doctors found “invasive” cancer.
The “Sleepless in Seattle” star told Moore that her 2019 song “Throw Me a Party” was inspired by her and Hank’s conversation after her diagnosis.
“The song … it came out of this, this story I’ve told before, but if you haven’t heard it, it was, when you get the diagnosis and you’re like, ‘I don’t know, I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but I hope I’m still here, you know, in a few years,’” Wilson told the crowd.
After reflecting on her cancer battle, Wilson happily told the crowd, “I’m here. Yay!”
In March 2025, Wilson marked a decade since she was cancer-free with a heartfelt Instagram post.
“10 years. And I am so deeply grateful,” Wilson told her followers.
She continued, “The gratitude is overwhelming. Didn’t always feel this way. And you know that, anybody who’s going through [it, or] who’s survived knows that it’s an up and down, like, hamster wheel. But then you get to this point.”
Wilson said that while she doesn’t “talk about it much,” she posted about her cancer-free anniversary because “it’s important to celebrate good news.”
“I am thinking of anybody out there who might be going through some difficulties,” she added. “You’re in my thoughts and prayers.”

King Charles’ personal gift to President Trump carries deep historical message

King Charles’ gift to President Donald Trump holds a deeply historical significance regarding relations between the US and the British monarchy.
The king, 77, gave Trump a framed premium copy of the 1879 design plans for the Resolute Desk during their gift exchange on Tuesday as part of the royals’ state visit, reports People.
The desk — which sits in the Oval Office — signifies the uniting ties between the United Kingdom and the United States as it was originally a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880.
It’s made from the wood of the British exploration ship the H.M.S. Resolute, which was found by American whalers after it was abandoned in 1854, according to the White House Historical Association.
The boat was eventually repaired and shipped back to Queen Victoria in 1856 as a showing of goodwill. The desk was made later after the ship was decommissioned in 1879 following years of service in the Royal Navy.
Its original design plans are kept by the National Maritime Museum in London.
In return, President Trump gave Charles a premium copy of a historical record from John Adams to John Jay in 1785. In the letter, Adams recounts his experience having King George III accept him as the first US ambassador to Great Britain.
The royal couple touched down in the US on Monday for their four-day visit in celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday.
The trip marks their first visit since Charles became king upon his mother’s death at 96 in September 2022.
On the first stop of their itinerary, Charles and Camilla, 78, met with the president and first lady Melania in DC where they sat for a private tea.
On Tuesday, Charles addressed congress — marking the second time a British monarch has spoken in front of the governing body since his mother in 1991.
They later made their way to the White House for the state dinner honoring King Charles hosted by Trump and his wife.
After finishing their stay in Washington, Charles and Camilla are expected to travel to New York City for several events.
The royal couple will reportedly honor the 2,977 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by meeting with first responders and some of the victims’ families ahead of the tragedy’s upcoming 25th anniversary.
Their state visit will come to a close in Virginia on Thursday, where they will attend a block party in honor of America’s 250th birthday.
At some point, Charles is expected to visit a national park by himself and Camilla will likely attend an event spotlighting horse racing in the US.

Taylor Swift breaks cover for NYC dinner outing with dad Scott ahead of Travis Kelce wedding

Taylor Swift broke cover to have an outing with her dad, Scott Swift, and her best friend, Ashley Avignone, ahead of the singer’s nuptials to Travis Kelce.
According to photos obtained by Page Six, the “Bad Blood” singer, Scott and the stylist arrived at the ultra-exclusive private members’ club San Vicente West Village in New York City Monday.
Upon arrival, Taylor got out of the vehicle first, then waited for her father and Avignone to exit the car before they all headed up the stairs into the swanky venue.
The Grammy winner wore a breezy blue-and-white striped sundress created by Staud ($325), brown Christian Louboutin sandals ($1,195), and a rare mini Dior handbag that retails for nearly $10,000.
Monday’s outing was the first time the “Cruel Summer” songstress had been fully seen since the end of March.
At the time, she nearly ran into her ex John Mayer at Paul McCartney’s concert in Hollywood, California.
In the pictures, obtained by Page Six, Taylor wore a black dress and choker while chatting with fellow singer Olivia Rodrigo.
When the pop star and her fiancé, Kelce, had a date night out to NYC hotspot Casa Cipriani on April 17, they were both concealed by black umbrellas.
Taylor, 36, also hid behind black umbrellas when she visited the Kansas City Chiefs star, also 36, at the Plaza Hotel in NYC ahead of Kelce’s Tommy Hilfiger photoshoot.
Earlier this month, Page Six exclusively reported that the couple — who went public in 2023 — are slated to tie the knot in the Big Apple on July 3.
While the “Blank Space” singer and the tight end had been planning an intimate Rhode Island wedding in June, Page Six reported in November 2025 that they were considering scrapping the idea to go “all out” with more guests.
Several stars are rumored to be attending the star-studded wedding, including Zoë Kravitz.
