Gwyneth Paltrow once said her biggest fear was ‘obesity’

Health nut Gwyneth Paltrow once said her biggest “nightmare” was “obesity.”
In an excerpt from her forthcoming biography, which was obtained by People earlier this week, Paltrow’s senior yearbook revealed her fear of major weight gain.
The yearbook contained a column titled “nightmare” and listed students’ biggest ones.
Next to Paltrow’s name was the word “obesity.”
The actress, 52, has long made headlines for her approach to diet and exercise.
She went viral in March 2023 for broadcasting her daily wellness routine, which horrified fans, fellow celebrities and medical professionals alike.
With an IV in her arm, the Goop founder explained on the “Art of Being Well” podcast at the time that she fancied “a nice intermittent fast.”
She began her day with coffee, as it “won’t spike [her] blood sugar,” and abstained from eating until about noon.
Paltrow went on to say that she loves soup and had “bone broth for lunch a lot the days.”
The “Se7en” star followed up the light fare with “one hour of movement” in the form of a walk, Pilates or a Tracy Anderson workout.
Paltrow then dry brushed in the sauna for 30 minutes and enjoyed a vegetable-heavy dinner in line with foods consumed during the Paleolithic era to “support [her] detox.”
Critics were quick to condemn the mega-famous star — not only for her restrictive patterns but also for sharing them with the world.
Following the backlash, the mother of two doubled down on her lifestyle and offered an explanation, saying she suffers from “long COVID” and “very high levels of inflammation.”
The self-proclaimed health and wellness guru shared at the time that her diet included “lots of cooked vegetables,” “all kinds of protein” and “healthy carbs” to combat the inflammation.
Though she claimed her eating plan was “working really well” for her, she insisted that her “transparent” interview about it was “not meant to be advice for anyone else.”
Two years later, Paltrow ditched her Paleo diet after getting “obsessed with eating very, very healthily.”
While being “hardcore macrobiotic” was an “interesting chapter” for the Oscar winner, she admitted to her “Goop Podcast” listeners in April that she “might have got[ten] a little didactical” about her diet and been “a little strict.”
After getting “a little bit sick of it,” Paltrow got “back into eating sourdough bread, cheese … and a little pasta.”
However, the “Shakespeare in Love” star did call the Paleo diet a “good template” for “eating foods that are as whole and fresh as possible” as well as “very local and seasonal.”

Nicole Kidman recalls learning of mom’s death at Venice Film Festival

Nicole Kidman is opening up about the day she found out her mother had died.
The 58-year-old actress spoke at the live speaker series, HISTORYTalks 2026, which is organized by the History Channel, on Saturday about a number of things, including learning of her mother’s death just prior to accepting the best actress award for “Babygirl” at the Venice Film Festival in September 2024.
“I’d won best actress at Venice Film Festival. This seems to be such a common theme through my life,” she said, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“I was about to go on stage, and I found out my mother had died. I went right back to the room in Venice, got into bed and was completely devastated.”
She recalled feeling as if she didn’t know how she would be able to continue on without her mom, saying, she “was so much a part of my existence. The idea of being there at that particular moment was harrowing.”
The “Big Little Lies” star went on to say that “the idea of being there at that particular moment was harrowing,” and she began to take steps to leave Venice as soon as possible.
“I remember getting into a boat in the canal, and literally at night trying to find my way to the airport, and then turning around and going, I can’t even do this,” she said.
“And then went back into the bed, and I was alone. My husband wasn’t there. My children weren’t there. I’d gone to win an award. What should have been a beautiful thing, ended up with that. But there is the contrast of life.”
Having gone through this tragic experience alone, Kidman says she now tells people “that’s when I know I’m resilient,” and “can survive pretty much anything.”
Kidman’s mother, Janelle, died in September 2024 at the age of 84.
Two years after her mother’s death, the Academy Award-winning actress shared with investigative journalist, Vicky Nguyen, as part of the private school’s Silk Speaker Series, that she has plans to become a death doula.
“As my mother was passing, she was lonely, and there was only so much the family could provide,” Kidman said per the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Between my sister and I, we have so many children and our careers and our work, and wanting to take care of her because my father wasn’t in the world anymore, and that’s when I went, ‘I wish there was these people in the world that were there to sit impartially and just provide solace and care.’”
Kidman shares two daughters — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15 — with her ex-husband, Keith Urban, while her sister, Antonia, has six kids.
The actress has spoken about her close bond with her mother many times over the years, telling the Sydney Morning Herald about how her mom always pushed her to pursue her dreams, saying, “she carved her own path and wanted her daughters to have the same opportunity to carve their own paths.”
“Mom didn’t necessarily get the career that she wanted, but she was determined that her daughters would have opportunities that were equal,” Kidman added.
“That’s given me my life. And she gave me my life, she and my dad.”
Kidman is following in her mother’s footsteps as a supportive mom, as she is supporting her daughter, Sunday Rose, in her budding modeling career.
She made her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2025, walking for Miu Miu.

Christina Applegate’s friends fearing the worst as ‘hellish’ details of star’s hospitalization are revealed: report

Christina Applegate’s friends are reportedly worried for the “Married … With Children” star following her recent hospitalization, fearing the worst as more “hellish” details are revealed amid her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
“With every setback, if we are being realistic, everyone has it in the back of their minds that they might not have a tomorrow with her,” a source told Daily Mail in a report published on Friday.
“Christina is a fighter, but her battle with MS has been treacherous. She has better days and really bad days; she doesn’t have great days. She’s always dealing with something. It sucks.”
The insider added: “But when she does look at things positively it makes her feel better in the moment because she has so many friends that are there for her, even to listen to her, cry with her and anything in between.”
The news comes shortly after it was reported that Applegate, 54, had been hospitalized in Los Angeles last month.
It remains unclear if the reason behind her extended hospital visit has to do with her autoimmune disease at this time.
When reached for comment, a rep for the actress told Page Six: “I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”
Applegate — who revealed her MS diagnosis in August 2021 — has been open about her health journey, giving updates via various interviews and her “MesSy” podcast, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
Most recently, she admitted in February that she’s been confined to her bed due to ongoing pain. She made the confession while telling People that she still tries to take her daughter, Sadie — who she shares with her husband Martyn LeNoble — to school in the mornings.
“I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” she told the outlet.
“I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”
Applegate last revealed she was hospitalized on an August 2025 episode of her podcast, sharing that she was “screaming” from being in “so much pain.”
On the episode, she recalled feeling like “my appendix is bursting” after she felt an excruciating pain on her side.
At the time, doctors informed her that she had a kidney infection that has since spread to her other kidney.

‘Summer House’ stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson kiss, hold hands at Yankees game

Amanda Batula and West Wilson are continuing to put their romance on display.
The couple was spotted kissing on live TV during the Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees game at Yankee Stadium Friday evening.
While deep in conversation, Wilson leaned in and planted a smooch on his “Summer House” co-star’s lips.
They were also seen holding hands in fan clips circulating on social media.
Batula rocked an oversized brown jacket, a pair of denim shorts, brown knee-high boots and a camouflage cap for the romantic outing.
Wilson, who walked closely by her side, matched her casual vibe in a white shirt, light blue jeans and a blue ball cap.
A fan comment re-posted via Instagram on Friday evening claimed that Batula took a selfie with a fan and was “nice.”
“She’s being very out in the open,” the fan alleged of Batula and Wilson’s newly announced romance.
A rep for Batula did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on Friday evening, and a rep for Wilson was not immediately available.
The reality stars shocked fans last month when they took to Instagram to confirm rumors they’re romantically involved — despite Batula’s close friendship with co-star Ciara Miller, who previously dated West.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they wrote via a joint statement on March 31.
“It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They wrote in part that their “connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship” and divulged that they’d waited to share the news in order to “approach this with care.”
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” they continued. “We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless.”
They concluded the statement, “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
In the moments following the bombshell announcement, Miller was spotted slumped on the sidewalk in New York City being comforted by a pal, seemingly devastated by the news.
She’s since unfollowed both Wilson and Batula via Instagram.
An insider subsequently told Page Six that Batula and Wilson’s co-stars — including Miller and Batula’s ex -husband, Kyle Cooke — were allegedly “disappointed” and “pissed” at them amid the news.
Batula, meanwhile, took to Instagram earlier this month to apologize, writing in an Instagram Story that she was “truly sorry to everyone I’ve disappointed and hurt.”
The couple has since been spotted stepping out multiple times in New York City — on April 10, they emerged together at a bar before being seen making out on a dinner date with pals
They also stepped out for a movie together last weekend after Wilson was spotted leaving Batula’s apartment on Saturday with an overnight bag and shoes in hand.
Miller, meanwhile, lashed out with a cryptic message after her co-stars were seen getting cozy on their date night. Sharing a photo from a Sephora shopping trip, she wrote, “@sephora actually rewards loyalty.”
More directly, Miller called the romance a major “mindf–k” during an unflinching sit-down with Glamour on Friday.
