Lady Gaga pays homage to past music videos in nearly 2-hour Coachella 2025 headlining set

She lives for the applause.
Headliner Lady Gaga paid tribute to her illustrious career at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., Friday night and was received with an uproar of cheers from her Little Monsters.
The pop superstar, 39, began her nearly two-hour performance with “Bloody Mary” from her 2011 album, “Born This Way” and then did a medley of “Abracadabra,” “Judas,” and “Poker Face.”
Throughout her set, Gaga dropped a series of Easter eggs that referenced past music video looks.
For “Paparazzi,” she wore metal crutches, similar to those featured in her 2009 music video.
Gaga also recreated a scene from her “Bad Romance” music video by laying down next to skeletons and a dancer wore a white crown reminiscent of the one she wore for the original video.
Aside from her classics, the Grammy winner also performed tracks from her seventh studio album, “Mayhem,” including “Disease” and “Killah,” which she told Uproxx she was most excited to perform.
“I really love that record,” she told the outlet on Thursday. “It’s the Gesaffelstein feature. It’s ultra confident, ultra funky, super unique and cool.”
The hitmaker added, “I’ve never done anything like it before, so that’s making me feel really excited just to do something I haven’t done yet before.”
Gaga’s full 2025 Coachella set can be seen here.
Leading up to the headlining event, the songstress teased there would be “Mayhem in the Desert.”
However, she was tightlipped about the rest of the surprises she had in store for her fans.
“I genuinely don’t want to give anything away about Coachella,” she added in her Uproxx interview.
“I know that is heartless of me, in a way, but I could honestly cry on the phone with you just thinking about how excited I am to do this show, and I want it to be a total surprise, and want everyone to have as much fun as possible.”
Gaga has headlined Coachella once before. She was recruited as the festival’s main attraction in 2017 —but only after Beyoncé had to drop out last minute because she was pregnant with twins Rumi and Sir.
“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” a rep for the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer said at the time.
Gaga was reportedly then left with only two weeks to create her set. She ended up performing a mix of her hits, including “Poker Face,” “Telephone,” “The Cure” and “Bad Romance.”
During Weekend 2 of Coachella 2017, the triple-threat also took the opportunity to announce the release of her then-upcoming film, “A Star Is Born,” which went on to be a massive box office hit.
While on stage at the time, Gaga thanked her co-star and director Bradley Cooper and revealed that they had filmed a few scenes on the festival grounds.
All of the excitement was then met with a somber moment, when the music superstar sang an acoustic version of “The Edge of Glory” in honor of her friend Sonja, who was battling cancer.
“I’ve been lucky that I’ve had some real success since the last time I performed at Coachella,” Gaga told Uproxx, reflecting on her previous experience.
“But also, I love my new album so much, and I’m so excited to perform it live. I can’t wait. So this felt like a great opportunity to do something creative and artistic and just bring my full vision to life.”
Aside from Gaga, other major headliners at Coachella 2025 include Green Day, Post Malone and Travis Scott. Nearly 150 acts are set to hit the festival stages over the two-weekend period, including notable names like Missy Elliott, Charli XCX and Megan Thee Stallion.
Coachella Weekend 1 runs Friday through Sunday while Weekend 2 is taking place from April 18 through April 20. Passes for the renowned music festival are available online.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding guests reveal new details on ‘legendary’ night

Kyle and Kristin Juszczyk both summed up Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s recent nuptials with one word: “Legendary.”
“It was just the best night ever,” Kristin told Page Six at the Time100 Sports Gala 2026 in New York City Thursday night. “It was legendary. There’s no other way to describe it.”
The 35-year-old San Francisco 49ers player added, “Yeah, truly, truly legendary.
The couple agreed that it was “wild” to be on the dance floor, rubbing shoulders with a slew of famous guests, including Lena Dunham, Mariska Hargitay, Hugh Grant, Selena Gomez, Bradley Cooper, Sabrina Carpenter, Adam Sandler, Emma Stone, and Tom Brady, with Kristin noting that she needs “to journal” about the night so she doesn’t forget any details.
They also both got teary during the ceremony, which saw Swift, 36, and Kelce exchange vows that ran “about 20 minutes each.”
“I definitely teared up,” Kyle revealed. “Their vows were so good, and it was hard not to,” while Kristin’s tears didn’t really count.
“I cry at every single wedding,” she explained. “Like, I don’t think there’s ever been a wedding that I haven’t cried at.”
Kyle is a longtime pal of Kelce, and Kristin became an overnight sartorial sensation in January 2024, when she whipped up custom Kansas City Chiefs-themed puffer coats for Swift and pal Brittany Mahomes to wear while cheering on their respective partners, Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
After her work went viral, she signed her own deal with the NFL, allowing her to license team logos on her clothing and sell her designs to the public.
The duo was not the only celeb couple at the gala. Jalen Brunson and his wife, Aly, were in attendance, along with Ciara and Russell Wilson, and LeBron James and Savannah James.
Flying solo was special guest Prince Harry, who attended without his wife, Meghan Markle.
Page Six exclusively reported that the royal was overheard telling guests that Markle and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are “happy” to be home in California after their brief visit to the UK.

Seth Rogen kept thanking Penélope Cruz while filming ‘The Invite’ sex scene

Seth Rogen admitted he couldn’t stop thanking and apologizing to Penélope Cruz while filming a sex scene for their new movie “The Invite.”
The “Superbad” and “Pineapple Express” star, 44, shared the behind-the-scenes story during Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” revealing that he instinctively kept saying, “Thank you,” while improvising the intimate scene with the Oscar-winning actress, 52.
“What’s actually funny in the scene is we were encouraged to improvise,” Rogen told guest host Ike Barinholtz.
“There’s a scene where me and her are having a romantically charged moment, and it seems like we might hook up with one another, and I just kept saying, ‘Thank you.’”
“And Olivia Wilde, the director, was just like, ‘Why? What are you doing? Why do you keep saying ‘Thank you’?” he continued.
“And I was like, ‘I don’t know. It’s just what’s coming out of my mouth.’”
Rogen said the reaction reflected how he would feel in real life.
“All I have is gratitude,” he said. “I would be apologetic and thankful. I’m sorry.”
The actor, who has been married to Lauren Miller since 2011, joked that he was nervous about filming the scene because Cruz is married to fellow Oscar-winner Javier Bardem.
“So, you’re very worried about that,” Rogen said, before adding with a laugh, “I don’t think he views me as a legitimate threat in any way, shape or form.”
Rogen also revealed that several moments in the film were improvised. He said Cruz suggested singing Sade during one romantic scene.
“It was Penélope Cruz’s idea,” he said. “There’s a scene where we’re being romantic, and she was like, ‘What if I start singing Sade to you?’ which is sort of sexy, but also kind of hilarious at the same time.”
Rogen also came up with an idea of his own for the scene, though it didn’t end well for him.
“It’s funny if I’m trying to get my pants off and maybe I struggle, and I fall down in the scene,” he said. “And I did it. Everyone’s like, ‘That was great.’”
“And then I hurt my shoulder for seven months,” he joked.
“The Invite” stars Wilde as Angela and Rogen as her husband Joe, whose marriage is shaken when they’re propositioned by wealthy couple Pína, played by Cruz, and Hawk, played by Edward Norton.
Wilde recently shared another improvised moment from filming “The Invite,” telling the “Table Manners” podcast that Cruz unexpectedly kissed her during a scene.
“I was so shocked,” Wilde said. “I turned my head and looked directly into the lens.”
Wilde recalled a camera operator saying her name, prompting her to blurt out, “Cut. Namaste!”
“That’s the only thing that came to my mind. ‘Namaste,’” she said. “And everyone was like, ‘What?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know.’”
“My mind went blank because I was so struck by this moment,” Wilde added. “I lost control. I was so madly in love with her.”
