Everything the Actress Has Said About Motherhood

Elisabeth Moss has taken on the role of a mother both on-screen and in real life.
The Handmaid’s Tale star welcomed her first child in 2024 after revealing she was expecting during a late night show appearance.
In a May 2018 conversation with Marie Claire UK, Moss opened up about the possibility of welcoming children, saying, “I like the idea of passing on what my mother passed on to me.”
“I do want to be a mother,” the actress said. “It’s not for everybody, and I didn’t know if it was going to be for me, but lately, I think it is.”
Moss later spoke to Good Morning America in April 2025 about how becoming a mom had “an effect” on how she approached her character June Osborne on The Handmaid’s Tale, the sixth season of which premiered on April 8.
“It’s impossible not to think about the real child and to draw those parallels in a very emotional way,” she said. “Plus, I was really tired.”
From how she announced her pregnancy to the ways having a kid impacted her role in The Handmaid’s Tale, here’s everything Elisabeth Moss has said about her child.

Moss quietly welcomed her child in 2024 — and brought them to work shortly after!
While at PaleyFestLA in March 2025, Moss reflected on what it was like having her baby by her side as she filmed the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, saying, “I feel so fortunate to be able to do that.”
“So many parents cannot. So that’s what we always say,” she continued. “Any of us who had the privilege of being able to bring our kids or see our kids at work, we would every single time be like, ‘Aren’t we lucky to get to do that?’ ”

Moss has kept details about her child largely private, including the identity of her baby’s father.
The Girl, Interrupted star was previously married to actor and comedian Fred Armisen, from whom she filed for divorce in 2010. Since then, she has kept the details of her romantic life out of the spotlight.
“I learned you just don’t talk about it,” she told Marie Claire in April 2019. “I hate to put that importance on it.”
Her pregnancy made playing June on The Handmaid’s Tale a “visceral emotional experience”

Moss’ character, June, is a mother of two, having welcomed her second child during season 2 of the series, which originally premiered in 2018. In March 2025, Moss spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about what it felt like to become a mother herself before portraying June for the last season, saying, “It was incredibly meaningful to be able to end this show as a mom, I got to tell you.”
She went on to say that there was a “beautiful synergy” between her real life and on-screen character, explaining that there was a “coming together of art and life that was undoubtedly, incredibly meaningful.”
“It’s such an important part of the story,” Moss said. “I’m really glad that I got to have this last season playing June with a little bit more of a visceral emotional experience of some of the things that June is talking about or fighting for.”
She added, “I’m really happy that I got to have that experience.”

During an April 2025 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark ahead of The Handmaid’s Tale‘s final season premiere, Moss joked that her castmates said she occasionally used a “mom voice” while directing some of the episodes.
“If no one’s calming down or if people won’t get on their marks or won’t go to rehearsal, I’m like, ‘I will turn this car right around,’ ” she joked.
The actress also explained how motherhood has changed how she perceives the show — and whether she’d recommend it to new moms.
“If people came up to me, especially moms, and said, ‘Oh, it’s so dark, I can’t watch it,’ or ‘I just gave birth, I can’t watch it,’ I would be like, ‘You’re fine, get over it, you know. It’s okay. It’s just a TV show,’ ” Moss said. “Now I’m like, ‘I totally get it. You shouldn’t watch it … Wait a year.’ “

Barry Williams on His Dad’s ‘Jealousy’ That He Out-Earned Him as a Teen Actor

Barry Williams found success as a child and teen actor — but it did come with a price.
On the April 15 episode of The Real Brady Bros podcast, Williams and his co-host Christopher Knight were joined by their Brady Bunch costars Susan Olsen and Mike Lookinland. Williams, 70, played eldest sibling Greg Brady. Knight, 67, played Peter, while Olsen, 63, and Lookinland, 64, played the youngest Bradys, Cindy and Bobby.
During the episode, the four on-screen siblings reminisced about how they joined The Brady Bunch and how they got started as young actors.

Williams said that when he auditioned for The Brady Bunch, “I’d been working for a while.” He remembered appearing on TV shows like Gomer Pyle, That Girl and The Mod Squad. Getting asked to do The Brady Bunch, he said, “was like manna from heaven.”
“I just thought, ‘Oh my gosh. This is gonna be a series,’ ” he remembered. He was particularly excited to play the oldest sibling since in real life, he was the youngest of three boys. The fact that “it was going to be a series, so I probably wouldn’t have to audition as much” was part of why he was “very, very excited,” he added.
However, his newfound success from The Brady Bunch, which ran from 1969 to 1974, led to some difficulties with his dad, Frank Blenkhorn. “He never was, at any point, exactly approving of the fact that I was in show business,” he explained. “As the show became more successful, I think he was more disenchanted. And I think there was a point where I may have had more opportunities, or there was a year or two where I was literally making more money than he was.” Williams said that only happened when his dad’s business would have a “down period” once in a while.
“He was very sharp with me about ego, about, you know, about making sure that I wasn’t getting too big for my britches, which probably was deserved,” Williams continued. “But I sensed a bit of jealousy.” His dad, he thought, felt frustrated that “a kid” didn’t have to go through “25 years” of work and instead had success “handed to him.”
Williams said he also thought his success took “a toll on his brothers” as his family’s life began to revolve around him and what he needed. “There was some resentment,” he said.

Knight said that in some ways, he could relate. His mother, Wilma, “was absolutely vociferously opposed to whatever the show was standing for, which was a challenge.” He explained that in retrospect, as an adult, it caused his mother “internal grief” that her real family couldn’t live up to the Bradys.

Meanwhile, his father, Edward, had been a Shakespearean actor and felt The Brady Bunch was not “high art.” His dad didn’t do any TV at all, he said, because he felt, “It was beneath actors that did stage.”

Johnny Depp unrecognizable as silver fox in movie ‘Day Drinker’

Johnny Depp transformed into a silver fox for his Hollywood comeback.
Lionsgate announced Monday that production was underway on the Marc Webb-directed thriller “Day Drinker” and shared a photo of Depp on set with a drink in his hand.
The 61-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” star looked unrecognizable with a full gray beard and blue contact lenses in place of his dark brown eyes.
He traded his signature shaggy brunette hair for a full salt-and-pepper look.
Although Depp starred in the French historical drama “Jeanne du Barry” in 2023, the upcoming film marks his first movie from a major distributor since 2018’s “Harry Potter” spinoff “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.”
He plays a “mysterious” guest onboard a private yacht who “forms an unlikely bond with a grieving bartender,” played by Madelyn Cline, according to IMDb.
The two “soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure,” played by Depp’s longtime collaborator Penélope Cruz.
The “Edward Scissorhands” star and Cruz, 50, previously co-starred in 2001’s “Blow,” 2011’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and 2017’s “Murder on the Orient Express.”
Depp took a step back from Hollywood amid his highly publicized defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022.
The “Alice in Wonderland” star won all three counts against Heard, 38, over a 2018 op-ed she wrote alleging domestic abuse. He was awarded $15 million in damages, which was later reduced to $10.3 million.
Although the jury mostly sided with Depp, the actress also won one of her three defamation counterclaims and was awarded $2 million in damages.
While Heard appealed the decision, the two later agreed to a settlement that saw her pay the actor $1 million, which he donated to charity.
The “Aquaman” actress has since left Hollywood behind and now lives in Spain.
Depp, for his part, moved to a “quiet” neighborhood in London, where he has been “prioritizing his health and well-being.”
“He’s taking advantage of being in this better headspace,” an insider told People last year. “There’s a lot of good energy, and he surrounds himself with a good group of people.
“It is more of a quiet life, but filled with painting and music,” they added. “He’s jamming out with friends and playing solo in times when he’s not focused on filmmaking.
While Depp laid low for a while after the trial, he is ready to get back to work on the big screen.
However, he doesn’t view his return as a “comeback,” previously telling journalists that he doesn’t “feel much further need for Hollywood.”
“I keep wondering about the word ‘comeback,’ because I didn’t go anywhere,” he said. “Maybe people stopped calling out of whatever their fear was at the time, but I didn’t go anywhere.”
He added, “Saying ‘comeback’ is almost like I’m going to come out and do a tap dance — dance my best and hope you approve.”
“Day Drinker” is expected to come out sometime next year.

Maya Hawke Makes Red Carpet Debut with Boyfriend Christian Lee Hutson

Maya Hawke stepped out for a night on Broadway with her boyfriend Christian Lee Hutson, marking the couple’s red carpet debut.
Hawke, 26, attended the opening night of John Proctor Is the Villain in support of her Stranger Things costar Sadie Sink at New York City’s Booth Theater. Hutson, 34, accompanied the actress to the theatrical premiere. Hawke wore a pleated skirt paired with a collared sweater, leather trench coat, and Prada loafers. Hutson donned a sporty, casual look with a denim-on-denim outfit paired with a brown turtleneck and white Converse sneakers.
The couple met four years ago through their work in the music industry. Hutson is known for his indie folk music style and collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers, whom he supported on her 2021 Reunion tour.
The musical couple collaborated on Hawke’s 2024 album Chaos Angel, featuring the notable single “Missing Out.” In July 2024, Hawke opened up about working with her boyfriend on the Zach Sang Show.
“It is awesome. I mean, I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. It’s the best. They know you, and as a human being who has dated other people. They really know you as a person who has feelings … not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto,” the actress told host Zach Sang.
Hawke first costarred with Sink, 22, on Stranger Things in 2017, when both actresses joined the cast. Several other Stranger Things cast members walked the carpet in support of Sink, including Natalia Dyer, Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo.
Sink stars as high school student Shelby Holcomb in John Proctor Is the Villain. The play, written by Kimberly Belflower and directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor, follows a group of Georgia high school students reading Arthur Miller’s classic Salem Witch Trials play The Crucible.

The play sees the students “as they delve into the American classic, the students begin to question the play’s perspective and the validity of naming John Proctor the show’s hero,” according to an official synopsis. The show marks Sink’s third Broadway credit.

At opening night, Sink exclusively told PEOPLE, “Kimberly’s writing is so brilliant and truly captures teenagers and such an authentic light and deals with some uncomfortable topics, but in such a digestible, honest way.”
The actress continued, “So I’m incredibly more proud of our team and the message that this show has.”
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things has wrapped production and will premiere on Netflix later this year with an exact date to be announced, per Tudum.
