EARLY LIFE
She was born in New York City on May 30th, 1980, and she lived in the Bronx for her childhood. The childhood of Remy was very difficult. She took care of her younger siblings and started doing so at a very early age when her parents were both alcohol users. Her sister Kristin Devereaux was particularly close to her.
Reminisce Smith had a very tough childhood in the Bronx. Her parents were having drug problems; most of her childhood and adolescence, she had to discipline her younger sisters.

She quickly became popular in the Bronx area and was soon noticed by Big Pun: in 2000, Big Pun was her mentor and she became the guest artist of Yeeha Baby on his record. She was noticed by Fat Joe after his death, who asked her to meet a rap crew.
