Former Lakers Teammates Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Reunite

Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar still have nothing but love for each other.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, the retired Lakers legends ran into one another on the basketball court while attending a game between UCLA and Michigan State.
In a video shared to Instagram by the Big 10 Network, Johnson, 65, is seen walking through a small crowd as he makes his way over to 77-year-old Abdul-Jabbar’s seat.
The UCLA alum, who was a center for the Bruins basketball team during his college days, wastes no time setting his belongings down and rising to his feet to greet the fellow Lakers star.
Though their conversation was inaudible over the sounds in the gymnasium, Abdul-Jabbar seemed to make a joke about Johnson wearing Michigan State gear — looking down at his own letterman jacket and back up at Johnson’s green hoodie.
Whatever was said resulted in a belly rolling laugh from Johnson, one that could be heard over the announcers and cheering.
After the sweet video surfaced online, Johnson reshared the post, adding a heartfelt message.
“I love my captain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Without question he’s the GOAT of college basketball – and its not even close! @kaj33,” he wrote on X, including the clip.

Johnson and Abdul-Jabbar were Lakers teammates in the 1980s. They won five titles during their time together, according to Sports Illustrated.
In 2021, both were honored as the NBA celebrated the 75th anniversary of its organization.
A panel of “current and former NBA players, coaches, general managers and team and league executives, WNBA legends and sportswriters and broadcasters” chose 75 of the all-time greatest players, the league said at the time.
According to their release, the group selected boasted “A total of 158 NBA championships and 730 NBA All-Star selections. A combined 110 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Awards and Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Awards. More than 1.5 million points scored.”

Earlier that same year, a Hulu docuseries about the Lakers was announced. The project was set to highlight Lakers legends and NBA Hall of Famers Johnson, Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal and more.
Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers arrived in August 2022 as a 10-part docuseries.
“We want Laker fans to watch this and enjoy it, which I believe they will,” Jeanie Buss, the president and controlling owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, told PEOPLE at the time.

Her late father Jerry Buss turned a struggling Lakers into one of the NBA’s most successful franchises.
“But we also want a new generation of fans who may not be basketball fans to enjoy the story and about the family drama that exists because this is a family business,” she continued.

Natalie Portman’s rarely seen son makes surprise appearance to impress Twitch star

Natalie Portman’s rarely seen son sweetly flaunted his famous mom to impress a Twitch star.
Portman’s 14-year-old child, Aleph, was seen FaceTiming the “Jackie” actress in a video shared by gaming streamer Marlon Lundgren Garcia.
In the short clip, Aleph was seen excitedly approaching the internet personality to ask if he knew who Portman was.
“No, I don’t think so, why?” the gamer, who goes by Marlon, responded to the child.
Aleph explained that the actress was in “Star Wars,” prompting Marlon to reply in shock, “That’s your mom?”
The video then transitioned to Aleph video-calling Portman on his iPhone so Marlon could give her a virtual shoutout.
“You want to say hi to Marlon?” Aleph asked Portman. The Hollywood star then greeted Marlon with a laugh.
“How are you doing? Hi! I’m sorry for disturbing you,” Marlon told Portman as he took the phone from Aleph.
“I just wanted to say hi real quick,” he added.
Portman, who was seen getting her hair done on the phone screen, told him it was “nice to meet” the YouTuber.
Marlon explained that he was with her son “about to play a little football.” However, Portman had trouble understanding what he was saying.
“I’m sorry, I like, can’t hear anything but I hope you’re having a great day!” Portman said with a smile.
Marlon told the “No Strings Attached” star that it was nice to meet her and thanked her for her time before hanging up the phone.
The internet star, who boasts 2.3 million TikTok followers, explained that Portman was his “biggest crush” growing up.
“Very beautiful woman, very good son, I just want to respectfully say that,” he said. “But that’s insane.”
Portman, 44, shares Aleph as well as daughter Amalia, 8, with her ex‑husband Benjamin Millepied.
The “May December” star recently explained why she keeps her kids relatively out of the spotlight in a conversation with Jenna Ortega for Interview Magazine published in April.
“I’m not a particularly private person in real life — I’ll tell you anything — but in public, it was so clear early on that if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more,” she explained.
“I set up a little bit of a barrier to be like, ‘I’m not going to do photo shoots with my kids,’” she added.
Portman and the French choreographer tied the knot in 2012 — but they divorced after 11 years of marriage when the movie producer allegedly had an affair.

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ stars Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt join ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 34

From “MomTok” to the ballroom!
“Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt are joining the Season 34 cast of “Dancing With the Stars.”
The exciting news was announced Monday night during Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Reunion Special.” Host Nick Viall — who was a contestant on Season 24 with Peta Murgatroyd — said during the special that “most” of the cast recently “auditioned” for the competition series while they were filming Season 3 of their own hit show.
He then excitedly broke the news to Affleck, 26, and Leavitt, 32, that they had both made the cut — due to being “so adored” by the “DWTS” production crew.
We hear the ladies are set to make a special appearance on “Good Morning America” early Tuesday as ABC makes their own official announcement live on-air.
The casting news comes just days after Affleck made headlines for going into labor while in a nail salon.
“POV: you start having contractions at your nail appointment,” the then-pregnant reality star hilariously captioned a clip shared to social media.
At the time of publication, Affleck and her husband, Zac, had not provided any further updates on baby No. 3’s arrival. The two are also parents to daughter, Nora, 3, and son, Lucas, 1.
Leavitt, meanwhile, recently showed off her dance moves while attending a concert in Las Vegas with her husband, Conner.
“We are witnessing true talent,” the venue, Resorts World Las Vegas, joked in the comments section.
The trip to Sin City marked their first getaway together since welcoming their third child, a baby boy named Billy Gene, back in October. They also share son Liam, 2, and daughter Sedona, 4.
During Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars,” Affleck and Leavitt — along with their pro dance partners — will compete against each other in hopes of winning the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. They’ll be joining previously announced contestants Robert Irwin and Alix Earle.
Wildlife conservationist Irwin, 21, called the opportunity the “ultimate dream come true” in an official announcement video back in April, while TikTok star Earle, 24, told “GMA” viewers in May that she is “ready to challenge” herself and have “fun.”
“I’ve always been a fan of ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ I used to watch it when I was so young with my grandma,” the influencer added. “She would always say to me, ‘Maybe one day you could be on there.’”
The full list of celebrities and the pro dancers they’ll be competing with for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.
Last year’s star-studded cast included Brooks Nader, Dwight Howard, Phaedra Parks, Danny Amendola, Jenn Tran and more, with “Bachelor” alum Joey Graziadei taking home the Season 33 mirrorball with his pro partner, Jenna Johnson.
“I really don’t know how I’m feeling right now, it’s a crazy, crazy process,” the reality TV star told Page Six in the ballroom after the finale. “[But] now we get to celebrate and enjoy it!”
“Dancing with the Stars” returns this fall on ABC and Disney+, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu. In the meantime, stay tuned to Page Six for all the latest “DWTS” news.
