Kyren Lacy’s Father Pens Statement After NFL Draft Prospect’s Death at 24

- Kenny Lacy has spoken out after his son Kyren Lacy was found dead on Saturday, April 12
- The former Louisiana State University (LSU) wide receiver, 24, died of a suspected suicide
- The NFL draft prospect was facing felony charges stemming from a Dec. 17 car crash that killed former marine, Herman Hall
Kyren Lacy’s father is speaking out as he mourns the death of the former Louisiana State University (LSU) wide receiver.
On Saturday, April 12, Kyren was found dead in Houston, ESPN, confirmed citing an LSU official. The 24-year-old’s cause of death is suspected to be suicide, WAFB and TMZ reported.
“Young parents, start talking to your kids at a very early age and make sure they are confident and comfortable confiding in you,” Kenny Lacy wrote on Facebook. “Don’t be cool with ‘I’m Alright, or I’m good’ when you know deep down something isn’t right.”
“Mental Health is real, and for the most part, it’s invisible, don’t ignore the signs, even if they may seem small,” he continued. “Our lives have changed forever and this will never be ok, but God needed my baby more than he was needed here.

He added, “This has to be the biggest pill our families have had to swallow but I know the love and compassion in our families will get us through. This will never get easier, but we’ll learn to live with it.”
“Check on your kids’ mental!!!!!!!!!!!” Kenny concluded.

LSU said in a statement they are “saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former LSU Football student-athlete Kyren Lacy,” per CBS News. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones, as well as his former teammates and coaches impacted by his passing.”
Lacy’s friend, Rontrell Sandolph, also paid tribute to the late athlete on Instagram, writing, “I’m so lost for words. I’m speechless. I went to sleep 4 times and woke up to see if that was a dream.”
“All the talks, all the tears, everything, you know GOD had us,” he continued, alongside a carousel of photos and videos of Kyren. “The dreams we had started to kick in, you making it to [the] NFL [and] me playing ball overseas. [Our] dreams [were] coming to reality.”
LSU, Louisiana State Police, Lacy’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, and his defense attorney, Matthew Ory, did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Sunday, April 13.

The death of the NFL draft prospect came as he was facing felony charges stemming from a Dec. 17 car crash that killed former marine, Herman Hall.
Kyren was accused of causing the crash and then fleeing the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities. He then declared for the 2025 NFL Draft two days after the incident.
It was confirmed in January that Kyren was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle.
According to ESPN, the athlete was later released on bail. A grand jury was expected to begin hearing evidence in the case on Monday, April 14, WAFB reported.

Mikey Madison Will Not Star in New ‘Star Wars’ Film Alongside Ryan Gosling

Mikey Madison won’t be joining Ryan Gosling in a galaxy far, far away.
According to a report from Variety, a source has said that Madison, 26, was offered a role in the next Star Wars film, which is set to star the Barbie actor, 44, but she declined the part.
Not much information is known about the upcoming installment in the sci-fi franchise, Star Wars: Starfighter, but director Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) is set to helm the project.

Plot details for Star Wars: Starfighter have yet to be released, but viewers can expect a brand-new adventure with new characters.
“It takes place in a period after the Battle of Exegol, after episode 9,” Levy, 56, said during the movie’s announcement in April, referencing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
“[There are] so many opportunities to tell a Star Wars story that has all the heart and action and fun of Star Wars, but to do it in ways that are new and original,” he added.
Fans of the franchise will remember that the Battle of Exegol was the climactic showdown between the Resistance and the First Order, which ended with the Sith being destroyed once and for all. The battle took place on Exegol, a planet in the Unknown Regions.
Following the destruction of the Sith fleet, the people of the galaxy rose against the First Order, setting the stage for the next movie.
Levy confirmed Gosling’s role in the new Star Wars film at the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo on Thursday, April 17.
“I had heard at one point that my movie was going to star Ryan Gosling and, believe me, that would be a dream come true for me,” Levy told the crowd from the stage. “So today, I just wanted to tell you here in this room that that rumor is 100% true.”
Star Wars: Starfighter is slated to hit theaters on May 28, 2027, according to the official teaser trailer.

Madison is fresh off of an Academy Award win for her leading role in Anora, in which she played the titular character — a sex worker experiencing a whirlwind Cinderella story.
After accepting the Best Actress statuette from last year’s winner Emma Stone, Madison described the moment as “surreal.” She added, “Hollywood always felt so far away for me. So to be here standing in this room today is really incredible.”
Prior to the awards ceremony in March, Madison spoke with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview for the 2025 Oscar Portfolio and said she’s “definitely” been getting some exciting offers since the film debuted last year to great acclaim.
“There are some things that I am really excited about and have my fingers crossed,” she shared at the time.

Eva Longoria rocks sparkling silver beaded dress at Global Gift Gala in Geneva

Eva Longoria had all eyes on her at the Global Gift Gala at Hotel President Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland, Saturday.
The “Desperate Housewives” actress put on a stunning display as she walked the carpet in a sparkling silver beaded dress with a strapless neckline and train.
The 50-year-old, who served as honorary chair at the event, accessorized with a silver necklace and earrings.
She also wore her brunette hair straight over her shoulders and dolled her face up with gorgeous makeup.
Later, she was joined on the white carpet by her 6-year-old son, Santiago, whom she shares with husband José Bastón.
Santiago was pictured wearing a light gray blazer over a light blue button-up. He also wore dark-colored shorts, knee-high socks and brown dress shoes as he snuggled up to his mom in the cute photos.
Finally, Longoria posed for photos with event chair Maria Bravo and singer Vitaa.
Longoria’s attendance at the event comes just a few weeks after she celebrated her 50th birthday with a star-studded party in Miami.
Photos obtained by Page Six showed the actress dancing with pals like Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Becky G and more at David Grutman’s Casadonna.
She was also joined by her husband, who “endearingly stood by her and celebrated her” as she rang in the big milestone.
“Eva was glowing,” an eyewitness adds of the “Devious Maids” alum.
Just a few days later, she celebrated her birthday with a second, more intimate gathering on a yacht.
“Grateful to have begun celebrating my birthday (as it will be a month long 🤭) I felt so loved! Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! Ready for this new decade ✨,” she captioned a slideshow of images from the event.

Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams Reunite 20 Years Later

Nearly two decades after audiences first witnessed the love story of Jack Twist and Ennis Del Mar — and cried their way through entire boxes of tissues as a result — their on-screen wives had an impromptu reunion!
Brokeback Mountain stars Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams — who played the wives of Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Ennis (Heath Ledger), respectively — sat side by side in the front row as Ralph Lauren unveiled its Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection on Thursday, April 17.
A far cry from the Western looks of the 2005 drama, the actresses wore head-to-toe Ralph Lauren for the star-studded fashion show, which was held at the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City.

Hathaway, 42, wore sequined, distressed jeans in a warm shade of khaki, which she teamed with a matching trench and a simple, scoop-neck white undershirt. She wore her hair in a sleek, high ponytail and accessorized with gold everything — save for a big pair of black sunglasses, which she ditched once heading inside the gallery.

Williams, 44, also went neutral — and opted for big outerwear — sporting a long, gray trenchcoat that hit at her ankles, which she wore closed and cinched at the waist. Underneath, a dress in a nearly identical shade poked through slightly, and the actress paired her all-gray attire with black pumps and a matching purse — plus her signature blonde bob, of course.
The stylish stars sat together in the front row of the gallery, where they were also joined by Naomi Watts, with whom Hathaway was seen chatting.

While Hathaway and Williams’ roles in Brokeback Mountain mark their only film collaboration, Hathaway later reunited with on-screen husband Gyllenhaal, 44, for 2010’s Love & Other Drugs.
Similarly, Williams and Ledger did not rekindle their on-screen chemistry, but they did famously take it off-screen. The actors fell in love on the set of the Ang Lee-directed movie, and welcomed their daughter Matilda Rose in October 2005, just before the movie hit theaters.
They later split up in September 2007, and Ledger died shortly after from an accidental drug overdose on Jan. 22, 2008.

The cast of Brokeback Mountain (who also included Kate Mara, Linda Cardellini, Randy Quaid and Anna Faris) have spoken fondly about the film over the years, though Williams recently admitted that after landing her first Oscar nod for the 2005 drama, she felt “a little bit frozen for a moment, creatively.” (The film was nominated for eight Oscars, including Williams’ nod for Best Supporting Actress, and won for three: Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Score.)
“It was really unnerving after that. Like, what do you do? What do you do next?” Williams recalled on Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist in 2023. “I never really had attention on me before in that kind of a way, and I think that that attention can be sort of destabilizing.”
